For those who never used Mtech 10/40, I'd strongly recommend it. I noticed your FC states Rm10/60km, so full takn of RM60 = 360km at most?
I changed my mounting to rubbered ones 2 yrs back, RM700+ labour for original part since it was leaking. My FC was 370km/full tank. So far I used Mobil, Shell, P2. I'll tell you that Castrol 10/40 is the best. Im using a 2002 second hand Kelisa. Honestly Im a NFS person. I drive really bad, corner oso fast. But...amazingly, full tank I can run 420km. |

QUOTE(mikehwy @ Dec 30 2013, 08:37 PM) 10/40? would it not be too light for old car? pls explain more if you canm truly interested bro. it will benefit many of us here. tq Nope...many say 10/40 is too heavy for the car. But if you are talking bout really ensuring your engine is good, I'd go for 10/40. I've tried 10/30 but the car will just make tonnes of noise after I hit 150kmph. Shell 10/40 - Noticeably good response, but after a while it becomes sluggish. Mobil 10/40 - Same as above but longer duration of it being good before sluggish Castrol Magnatech 10/40 - Engine gives a deeper sound but much more quiet and response is hella good. I will service it at least 1,000km before it expires. The usual changes...oil filter use the normal P2, then change oil with Castrol (3rd time using this good ol chap). Oh....always pump your tyres 10-15% above your normal pressure. It reduces your FC by 5-10%. Other than that I do the usual...pedal to the metal shiet thingy...but still goood fc. Hitting 400km/full tank on average. My car is all stockies too. |

RM1.3K for mounting? A little tad expensive....even if it's original part (full rubber) is about Rm250 - Rm300 a piece x 3 piece mounting. Tell u wat....try Uptown there's a mechanic tht I trust really well and he's really good at his workmanship. Maybe he can quote better price

QUOTE(mikehwy @ Jan 22 2014, 01:39 PM) just sent for general service. found that the air con radiator was dirty with greasy stuff insude + brownish rusty bottom. rm80 for flushing the radiator and rm80 for changing the top n bottom layer. I've changed my radiator and almost my whole aircond system quite a while ago. Till now my air cond at 1/4 of the temperature level it's chilly and like i turned to number 2 instead of 1. Btw, did u ask y ur foreman refuse to do 10/40?... my foreman refused to use castrol mtech 10-40. i think he plans to use 5/10-30. image shows the dirty radiator inlet ... update later .... |

Just changed my EO to 5/30 ENEOS. Fark...easily touch 160 in a jiffy...but then whole car rattles after 150 so I slowed down...FC shows not much difference...a bit on the high side but by like 10km difference.
For sure my engine sounds smoother. So will update u guys further. Btw...any recommended shops to change my bonnet in PJ? =( |

QUOTE(asifniz @ Sep 5 2014, 11:36 AM) Hello everyone, Noise is quite common for a 3 line engine....maybe the oil used is not that good? How is the noise like though? YOur FC is bloody high. Something is definitely wrong cuz mine is clocking at 14km/litre on average....I'm a new Kelisa owner here. Purchased 2004 Kelisa 1.0 EZ (Auto), done 133000Km for 15K in April 2014. Now the problem with this vehicle is that the engine is a bit noisy & it is giving fuel average of only 7-8 Km/L in city driving According to the service sticker, oil change was done at 130000Km. What could be the problem here? |

QUOTE(asifniz @ Sep 5 2014, 12:29 PM) Thanks for the reply, it is just a lot louder than other Kelisa's that I have heard. Engine noise a lot louder. I live in Shah Alam where there are steep climbs so I was guessing the FC will be around 10-12 but 7-8 is way too low!! Used a few but caters to which you likeNot sure what engine oil was used the last time, but I'm planning to get it changed at 135000 instead of 140000 that is mentioned on the service sticker. What engine oil do you use? Castrol Mag 10/40. Engine is well taken care of. Mileage is from 370-420 per full tank. Response is quite alright especially after first 500km. ENEOS Ecotouring 5/30 semi syn. Engine is smooth, pick up is good. 400-450 per full tank. Response will become slightly lower after 2000km. Maybe you need to send your Kelisa for checking. If the engine sound is too loud it could be your RPM. |

QUOTE(asifniz @ Sep 8 2014, 02:51 PM) Won't know the issue until I get it serviced at 135000Km. Dont bother waiting till that mileage. You'll damage it even worse. I FUBAR-ed my gearbox for so long thinking I'll change it the next mileage, and it cost me a bomb to change to a new one. That affected other things in my engine due to nt repairing it. Now my suspension and axle also giving problem....whole car starts to vibrate at 80km speed, and if it is at 30-40km speed, my car moves left and right....like im in a rocking chairI read in another forum that resetting the ECU helps in getting the FC right and improving performance, done by taking the battery plug out for 10-15mins or removing the EFI fuse out. Anyone tried that? Yea, my friend did it. Its quite simple. This post has been edited by [F]atalit[Y]: Sep 8 2014, 03:00 PM |

QUOTE(asifniz @ Sep 8 2014, 03:51 PM) Yeah I guess I'll get it done sooner. Resetting ECU is just going back to factory setting. It can be considered a refresh if you have trouble with your engine. So if yours is giving a lot of FC, it could improve it =)How was your friend's experience with resetting the ECU? Any improvement in performance? |
