the tyre thing is normal for both kelisa and kenari
for the fumes could be penetrated through holes from the firewall. I might be wrong tho.

well.. i remember changing the whole exhaust last year .instantly after the change i could tell theres this sound(like cheap bassy) when i step on the gas... extractor to tail all changed.... the car still has the petrol smell... plus i overhauled the car, changed mounting , whole ac system, suspension very recent.. i suspect its one of the sensors faulty ? do you recommend getting it checked in perodua? bangwall.gif

HI Guys. my kelisa has a weird problem, not sure anyone has encountered on theirs.

It manages to get started on cold start. But after starting, if i turn off the engine immediately, the car will not start back. It keeps cracking as if the battery is dead.

I have changed the starter to another unit, changed several battery, tried additional grounding and also sent it to a wireman to get the electricals looked at but the problem still persist.

For now, i have resorted to turning the alarm on/off, putting the car in neutral and pushing is slightly or shaking the battery terminals wiring to get it started back.

If i leave the car to cool down, it will get started.

If anyone has any suggestions, im happy to hear for you

Hi guys.

I need ur recommendations.

Currently im using rear disc for my kelisa.

Last week im going to puspakom for inspection (need to do detaila inspection due to my roadtax expired more than 1 year),

And, my kelisa fail at brake test.

My question is, how to improve the braking power for rear disc klisa?
Another issue is regarding parking brake. Need to exceed certain %. How to improve parking brake?

My plan, take out the cable and do the cleaning, sevicing the caliper and piston & changing to a new pad.

Is there anyone here upgrading the brake servo ?
Someone said that, by installing rear disc, the pressure from current servo is insufficient, thus resulting weak pressure to these 4 wheel. Izit true?

You mean the clutch set?
2 years ago I bought 200plus
And labour is around 100 plus.

Suggest to fix any other issue such as pipe/valve leakage or other wear n tear parts together:)

An update on my problem stated in the above quote.

So I met my regular mechanic and discussed about the starting problem. He called his Starter/Distributor supplier and the supplier believed that the previous workshop that did an overhaul on the Kelisa might had replaced the original starter with a different starter.

So the identified problem was that the mechanic that did the overhaul might have used a starter with 9 gear tooth instead of the 8 gear tooth required by my car. Note that both these 8/9 tooth starters exists for kelisa, it depends which one perodua shifted along with your car.

Since mine shifted with an 8 gear tooth starter, using 9 gear tooth was doomed from the start. The supplier brought a recond 8 gear tooth started, got it replaced for 180RM, traded my old 9 gear tooth starter for 20RM. Problem solved.

Car starts like a dream.

Latest visit to the service shop earlier this week for the usual service.

Replaced the battery, oil, timing belt kit, all other belt.

The mechanic's inspection noted the following items needed repair / replacement:
1) Pulley bush not good
2) T hose pipe not good
3) Tie rod end bush not good
4) Lower are bush not good
5) Exhaust rusted

Just for reference Kelisa is form 2004, had other major parts changed such as drive shaft, engine overhaul etc.

Wanted to post here form time to time, help other members out.

Intend to keep this daily driver as long as possible.

How come I only see automatic Kelisa's on the road these day? So rare to find manual one.

It's interesting because when new, automatic models were 40k while manual one was 30k.
