Perodua W/shop recommend every 60,000km, but in practice it's up to 100,000km.
Bro, you timing belts are due, better have it changed.
I heard some people say: if timing belt broken while running, may cause engine to have serious problem.
I did mine, complete set + labor, at Perodua W/shop @rm 450 in 2012.

for our car, the top piston has space. i had a friend who broke a few times and nothing happened. seems this is daihatsu design whereby the belt breaks it will not bend the valve or damaged the piston head.

Fixing the front takes 2-3 days. I only help my foreman friend. Need to look for good quality screws and nuts, attach sound proof material for side fenders, polish the heavy dust and stains, etc....
next week will be painting job. I am a fuzzy guy, will strip all rubber linings, lampu belakang, brush off patches of rust, etx etc.... Might paint the rims too
if enuff money will use high qyality primer and base paint as i m going to paint it suzuki seaside blue. Different new color blue from the current brown takes alot more work.
hopefully, the job can be completed after cny. I will replace any faulty rubber lining, screws and nuts, dust and rust .... A long way to go.
will update here ....
will look something like this ....

Note that my front grill has only 5 batang which is very rare and mire expensive

Sifu/Bro yorkhan, thanks for your info & I am surprised by its design;
it is re-assuring to know that if timing belts breaks, it won't destroy the inner Kelisa engine components.

my friend told me the same thing too. he used a vitara compressor bought from chop shop.  nod.gif

Hi everyone, long time Kelisa driver here, the only mod I did for my car was exactly the same - changing the aircond compressor to a recond Vitara one. No more compressor stopping during traffic, though the hot air would still affect the temperature of air blowing out if stuck in jam for extended duration ie. 30 mins or more.

Bro mikehwy, nice mod =)

Just to share, I changed my timing belt today.
Mechanic told me have EO leakage due to seal NG, now already fixed. (The cons of overdue)
I guess he didn't change other components, cost is RM250.

Hello everyone!!

Anyone here know any good and trustworthy mechanic for Kelisa service? Want to change the engine oil, oil filter, air filter and possibly the spark plug as well.

Also kindly tell what brand & grade oil to put? Brand for oil filter, air filter & plugs.

Thanks!!
