CALGARY-based Talisman Energy is seeking engineering, procurement and construction bids for the fast-track Bunga Pakma satellite development in Malaysia-Vietnam joint development area Block PM3CAA.



A tender is understood to have been issued to the eight Petronas-licensed fabricators as well as Vietnam’s PTSC.

Bids are due in early May for the EPC contract on a wellhead riser platform lined up for Bunga Pakma to be tied back to the central processing platform at the producing Bunga Orkid field.

A contract is expected to be awarded in the third quarter of this year. The selected contractor will be called on to deliver the wellhead platform by April 2015.

First gas from Bunga Pakma is targeted to flow by December 2015.

Talisman has opted to fast-track the Bunga Pakma project in favour of pressing ahead with the larger Bunga Kekwa field development, also in Block PM3CAA.

The design of the proposed Bunga Kekwa processing platform is understood to have come under review, as the Canadian independent seeks to reduce its final weight, according to sources.

Offshore installation of the Bunga Pakma structure is likely to be issued out under a separate tender or come under one of three Petronas Pan Malaysia contracts awarded to TL Offshore, GOM Resources or PBJV.

Block PM3CAA produced over 30,000 barrels of oil equivalent per day in 2013.

I think you should. Good platform to start your career in drilling. Just bear in mind that they have bond agreement that you need to serve. And do not think being a drilling engineer like one in petronas, exxon, shell etc. You are a drilling crew, rig will be your second home, hands on (roustabout,roughneck and progress up the ladder) and attending a lot of training.

Just to give some motivation, five figures salary once you AD with 4 weeks offshore and 4 weeks off (paid)

Hi everyone, I'm an IT grad maj in Security Tech, 2 years exp in telco field supporting mostly oversea projects now. Would like to know what is the chance of me trying to change into O&G field?

And if yes, any post in particular related to IT or security?

Not really sure because i heard umw now has proper program for the trainees. Last time, they took less than 5 yrs to become AD and some less than 3yrs.
