thank god there is one middle east country there

And its Israel lol. laugh.gif

Actually, most of the oil exporting Middle-East countries have procured modern fighters as well from the US/UK, and France. Its just that their pilots as well as support personnel are nowhere near as capable as Israel's.

Crazy does not necessarily mean combat effective. It just means they are crazy.

I we are going to do the same, the people will rage say songlap la apa la. When not listed will give degrading comments. Ptuih!

What degrading comments? Anyone who expects Malaysia to be in any top 10 military list is an unrealistic idiot.

And, yeah...songlap is an issue. I wouldn't mind if they upped the budget for defense if only our army actually benefited from it. What does our army have? Submarines that can't submerge, helicopters that crash, overpriced patrol boats, etc. Why? Because of songlap. Simple as that. Everything that we buy also will go over budget for outdated crap. So no, I don't approve of additional spending...not unless we clear up the songlap issue first.

Which submarines that can't submerge? Sorry I'm slow pork.
*
Slow pork my foot. You know what I'm referring to. Yes, they probably rectified by now (I dunno, never bothered to stay updated) but that doesn't change the fact that they had problems initially. We overpaid for them and some poor Mongolian girl got blown up as part of the deal too.

Oh, and I believe their purpose was to patrol the waters off the coast of Sabah. Not that I want to disparage the capabilities of our army, but seriously...what can 2 submarines do? We still got invaded anyway. One wonders if the budget couldn't have been spent on something more effective...like more fast patrol boats that are hopefully not overpriced.

They patrol other place one maybe. Like Spratly islands. Submarine only how much, how to patrol whole sabah coasts?  sweat.gif
*
Yeah, 2 submarines will scare off the Chinese navy.

Like it or not, we are going to be bullied out of the Spratlys by China. There's just no way around it. Even if all of SEA were to pull together their resources, we won't be able to match China and this assumes we can even cooperate with each other considering that each and every country also lays its own claim to those islands.

everytime i see top 10's in the world thread, india is there..top 10 millitary, airforce, movies, best brain's etc etc but still yet named as developing and poor nation despite having all the powers to become super power..some serious shit is wrong with the goverment i think...
*
Because it has a large population of which most are still living in poverty.

Developed nation status is accorded based on average GDP per capita. The majority of the country's citizens must have a high standard of living in order to be considered as developed. That is not the case with India, nor is it even with China. Note that while China's GDP has indeed overtaken Japan, its GDP per capita lags far behind.
