Hi guys n gals, do you have any good air purifier to recommend that is good but not too pricey as well?
wife keeps saying she wanna buy the Amway one, but it costs a bomb! RM4k+ one! I wanna do research to see if there's others that is similar/better than that? I'm sure we can get a pretty good air purifier that has several layers to clean the surrounding air without forking RM4-5k right??

Bought one Amway air purifier some 10 years ago. Bought it mainly because of my son's coughing in the morning. Don't know whether it is the air purifier or my son's growing up that the coughing has either stopped or reduced to only when he is sick.
Wanted to change the 3 elements and they are expensive! RM2000 plus. Need to replace these after a year or two.
My recommendation is to find a cheaper one e.g. RM1000+ for the complete system and ensure subsequent filter replacements do not cost a fortune. Amway purifier looks simple, 3 filters and a fan, and I still can't figure it out why it costs so much.
Go for the HEPA filters though more expensive than normal filters.
Good luck!

Less frills, but similar air treatment volume at max speed, and uses a washable HEPA filter. Between Rm1000 - RM1350.

Don't buy amway/atmosphere, half of the money you paying are just going into the MLM salesman's pocket, especially when you need to buy their exclusive filters in future. Their salesman like to boast about the faster air flow and "better than HEPA" filter rate, which is purely salestalk. The real professionals in the air cleaning business would ask you about coverage/volume, which mean if you have a big house, it is better that you install multiple "normal" air purifiers than 1 super-expensive one.
For me, as long as the air purifier has the HEPA filter and the replacement filters is reasonable priced and widely available through retail channels then it is good enough. Anyway there are a few classes under HEPA, most of the air purifiers under RM1K has the lowest class H10 which is only 85% against <0.3 micron particle.

Xiaomi or Sharp are reputable brands and easy to get the replacement filter. I can still find original replacement filter for my 5 year old sharp air purifier.
Just bought a Xiaomi recently. All below 1k, some even below RM500. Other brands which you can consider. Cuckoo, Panasonic?
