I don't.
3 reasons

1) their flat face is ugly (in my opinion)
2) they shed their fur like nobody business
3) gotta groom them everyday or your house will look like barber shop.

If i'm gonna adopt a long hair, I'll take Maine Coon anytime. Norwegian Forest Cat will be my 2nd choice.
forest cats like MC & NFC is very easy to maintain. Grooming once a week is enough.
Being a forest cat, mother nature naturally didn't require them to be groomed (can't find a grooming shop in the forest can they )

rm800 for a DLH?
i assume the persian is sold at petshop (rule of thumb. do not EVER buy cats or dogs from ANY petshop. get from a breeder or SPCA/PAWS)
& no certs.
I won't pay rm800 for a DLH. persian look or not. rm500 would be more reasonable.
I'll save up some more to adopt one from a proper breeder.

as i can see that is a normal cat. i mean Domestic Long Hair. And again, if they don't provide you birth certificate then its Domestic cat.

oh by the way, is that long hair or what? it look semi-long for me. Persian don't look that way, you cat face look like normal face.

anyway forget about the price, since you "paid" Rm800 already, no point for arguing that right....

as for budget, very hard to tell...

if your cat spend more time in the cage = get bigger cage 3 tier good quality cost about RM260-RM330 (depends which shop). unless you get second hand then cheaper. (ONE TIME INVESTMENT)

if you cat eat expensive food (1st class food or premier food) such as Innova Evo/orijen, then monthly will cost more than other food. Other good food with almost the same price among each other is IAMS/Science Plan/Royal Canin. Most people recommend Royal Canin. But since you only have 1 cat, then Innova Evo/Orijen should be problem - they eat less if you get this kind of food because it contain high protein 40%. So stomach get easily full. For a start you can get Royal Canin - buy bigger pack like 10kg you save more. Normally can keep until 2/3 months for 1 cat. (MONTHLY INVESMENT DEPEND HOW MUCH YOUR CAT EAT)

litter - you have a choice of Crystal, Pine wood, Clay sand. If only have one cat, get Crystal or Pine. Clay sand is good too but easily stick on your cat fur. I use crystal for my long hair, and pine wood for my short hair. (MONTHLY INVESTMENT)

Litter box - get bigger one as long as it fit in the cage more comfortable no need to get expensive one lah. as long as big and suitable for the size of your cat. (ONE TIME INVESTMENT UNLESS YOU CAT GROW BIGGER)

food bowl, depends on you, (ONE TIME INVESTMENT) cheap!

Comb one time investment cheap!

nail clipper - i recon human nail clipper.. the one sell for cat is useless.. wasting money. all you need to do clip the sharp only, dont clip the whole thing.

shampoo - get 2 in 1 - shampoo + conditioner = good one cost about rm30 above. (CAN USE LONGER TIME - SO NO NEED TO INVESTMENT SO MUCH)

i guess thats all for a start...

just be prepared to pay at least rm1k+
sometimes need to be in waiting list.
most of the time, breeder will need u to sign a contract. Requires u to neuter/spay when the time comes. cannot simply resell the kitten without their approval. no declawing. indoor only. etc.

if u are not prepared for this, i suggest u adopt cat from SPCA/PAWS (many cute poor kitten there) or u can adopt kitten from forumers (with some fee.sometimes free) LYN got some. kitten.com.my got many.

just remember not to get conned.
rm500 & below for a DLH considered reasonable.

yea. u need the 3 tier cage. if im not mistaken, think i bought mine less than rm200. if u stay somewhere near puchong and u a serious buyer, i can check the price again at the pet shop i always go.

i think the breed is Norwegian Forest Cat...white chest...

Just keep the cat confined with the litter tray where you want it to do their biz for about a week or so... Either in a cage or room or toilet... After that they will know where to do their biz... But you must keep the litter tray at that original place all the time, if you move it, you need to repeat the same procedure again cuz some cats won't know where to find it, while some others can.

Surprisingly he is...

Both male and female make great pets. Each will have their own unique character. It's up to the owner also on how they shape their pets behaviour.

Take into consideration to neuter/spay your cat too. Some common things if you don't have them neutered/spayed :

- For females, once mature they can run away when on heat and also easily get pregnant and fill you house with tonnes and tonnes of kittens.

- For males, when mature they will start pissing wherever they like.

Neutering/Spaying will help curb these problems plus encourages a better health for your cat
