Hey there, I have a couple of solutions for you. First, you need to understand that to make Vegas work with mpeg files, you'll need to have the MainConcept Mpeg Plugin installed. There are 2 ways to get this:

1. You'll need to install Sony DVD Architect 3 and (maybe) run it once. Why? Because it comes with the mpeg plugin, which means you don't have to go thru the hassle of method #2. This method is recommended.

2. Put anything on the timeline, and render as mpeg-2. It'll pop up asking you to register/purchase the mpeg plugin, in which case, go and acquire it yourself. whistling.gif This method is usually frustrating, because the plugin registration can be a beech.

By doing either method, your VOBs should be readable by Vegas. If you have any queries, feel free to ask.

btw, don't ask me about getting mpeg2 in Premiere. I only use Premiere for capture and edit in Vegas. thumbup.gif

Good to know that it works for you. I take it you found the solution to your problem? btw I use Vegas 6.0d & DVDA 3.0c. smile.gif

albirri, try installing DVDA. See if that works out your problem with the audio.

yup...to be saved as avi or mpg for example

Ooo.. banyak kerja wo.. At least, the last time I tried to convert a dvd to xvid avi. Sorry, but I forgot how to do it already unless it's in vegas. Drop the vobs on the timeline, render as avi/mpg. But since dvd media is so cheap nowadays, I never bothered to save as an avi (except DV).

I'm sure got other easier, faster method out there. Anyone can help albirri?

d3x, if im not wrong vegas cannot overpass the encryption set on the -original- dvds...

You are correct. For that, use dvd decrypter. Once the disc has been copied to the hdd, then the vobs can be opened in vegas.

Just to let u know, I don't copy from encrypted discs cuz I never needed to.
