What was your build number before this update?  According to XDA, before 4.2.2, there's a small update, restart phone then you will get the 400+MB update.
*
I'm in Taiwan so I already got 4.2.2... this is a subsequent small update. It just say bug fixes. A couple MB size.

How's the battery life and gaming perfomance?  biggrin.gif
*
Didn't do any specific testing.. no dramatic change in performance or battery life (my phone still very new though).

Most useful for me is the quick settings on the notification bar and the hold home button menu (useful since I use Chrome)

Oh I see. Can't wait to test it out myself. tongue.gif I game quite heavily these days just to test it's capabilities hence the curiousity on 4.2.2 changes in that regard. Yeah heard that the notification toggles are pretty good and the fact that they finally remove Power saver from the bar. And that stupid menu bar is finally gone thanks to the update.
*
I actually like the power saver as I'm always constantly turning it on and off tongue.gif

Powersave bar is still on when you have it enabled but when its disabled its off. Now its more tedious to go into settings to turn it on again.

hmm...but consider to gap issues, i think i am more concern about this issue as the HTC One selling point is low light picture taking but end up it has problem while taking picture in low light..quite frustrating.. doh.gif
*
Try to use a lower ISO instead of AUTO .

What's wrong with ur low light? Mine seem ok

The issue is when you point the camera at bright light source (monitor, tv for example) and then point it to very dark area with no light... wait 4-5 secs... then screen turns purple.

Mine does that too but when it comes to actually taking photos, no issue.

mm so far din happen on mine. Still running 4.1.2

Overall dun put too much hope on the camera. HTC do promote the ultrapixel capture more light compare to normal pixel but it doesnt said it come out nice.
Keyword : Capture more light = Brighter.

I know alot ppl has misconception on ultrapixel tod it will be best but in fact it is still a tiny 1/3 inch sensor.
*
Hahaha... yeah... too many people thinks that its the magic bullet hence the unrealistic expectations.

yup sensor size and imaging processor play important role tongue.gif
Dun need APSC sensor..even if they manage put 1/1.7 inch (or 1/1.2 inch like Nokia Pureview 808) it will be my on the go camera adi  tongue.gif
*
Actually what I'm more concerned about is controls...

Like 1/3 stop exposure compensation.. the full stop EV on the One is really too much... Live histogram will be nice since smartphones these days got big screen

If it can do real 4sec (at least) shutter speeds then lagi syiok... and while at it... having RAW will be nice too.

But I don't see the above being remotely in the top priorities for phone makers.

haha i dun concern much on that since i hardly set manual adjustment when using compact cam.
If DSLR or Mirrorless yes i very particular on the control  tongue.gif
Same 808 technology laugh.gif Nokia won again in camera.
I am looking forward for Sony Xperia Honami now
It is alway up to u if HTC One camera can up to ur expectation laugh.gif
But with Zoe features, taking photo with ur family or friends become more interesting  icon_rolleyes.gif

True in some sense but I need at least exposure compensation and live histogram. Can't trust just the metering.

Turn on powersave mode lah.

It's not like you need so much juice on whatsapp.

There's many battery optimization guides on the web that you can refer (I'm noob here but do get an improvement after following those guides).

The biggest power draw I think is mobile data.

I'm plugged into my notebook (need to get another 2A charger soon) and battery charge is actually going backwards while downloading a large file shocking.gif

Speaking of heat issues, knowing the fact that the body is aluminium, does the heat sink affected if we were to put on a back case? Or it's not really a big deal?
*
I don't think it matters much though personally I'll be a little hesitant to run a resource hungry game while the phone is being clad in a double layer case.

Hahhaa, I used to be a portrait photographer lo.  Official photographer of Miss Universe Malaysia 2010 ;D

But I don't think the HO will be as sharp as my HoX lar.

By default the One's jpeg is oversharpened so I prefer to tone it down -1 and sharpen in post if needed.

Personally I think the biggest shortcoming is the narrow dynamic range.

This type nice only but offers almost no protection. My friend drop his One using similiar type of case on concrete floor.. the case dented at the side which in turn also dent the phone.
