Are you guys sure fsutil will work? If you create 100 MB with 60 MB contains zero or null, it is still 100MB file not 40 MB file i believe.

The only way can do what the thread starter wants is intercepting system calls. However, i only knew how to do it in DOS though. Never tried system programming yet in WIN32.

Using fsutil to create fake files should works fine.

The fake file created with fsutil.exe will report to be 100MB but only really takes 30MB of HDD space. There are no cheats and the disk and system stability is not compromised. This will only work on NTFS drives though.

if i write the file to the CD, then it will take 30MB or 100MB (space on CD)?

Unfortunately, the fake files only works in NTFS partitions. As CD/DVD use either ISO or UDF file system, the fake file will use 100MB of your CD/DVD space.

Are you planning to make your ISO bigger so that your cd reads at the outer rim? Like a dummy file?
