may i know what means by  ps & Nm? some car has high PS but lower Nm. how 2 determine its power by this rating? not hp(horsepower)?
VW Jetta CKD 1.4TSI (160PS, 240Nm) - RM 135K
Toyota Altis 2.0V (145PS, 187Nm) - RM 136k
Honda Civic 2.0S (155PS, 190Nm) - RM 131,980
Nissan Sylphy 1.8VL (131PS, 174Nm) - RM 125,500
Kia Cerato 2.0L (161PS, 194Nm) - RM 118,888
*
PS and HP is the same.
Torque, however is different. On the example above, Jetta CKD is using turbo engine, which gives higher hp and torque at a wider rpm range.

You should also take note about the rpm range on the advertised horsepower and torque.

CVT gives better mileage if the driving style is correct. Most ppl get so-so mileage on CVT because they're not used to the lag during initial acceleration, therefore pressing the pedal too hard. City shouldn't have a problem reaching 15km/L.

Cerato on the other hand, is a heavier car and 6AT. It might get better fuel econ compared to Vios' 4AT, but surely less fuel econ compared to city.

Does anyone know why the 30 km and 50 km has dial is red in colour?

QUOTE(happiesdog @ May 13 2014, 05:42 PM)
Quoted from other forum: In Europe, 50km/h (town) and 30km/h (neighbourhood/school zone) speed limits are very strictly enforced, hence the red markings on the speedometer to remind drivers.

thought gonna get cerato 2.0 is there any problem with korean car and how bout the fuel consumption.....is korea car maintanence very expensive?new advice from u guys tq notworthy.gif  notworthy.gif  notworthy.gif  notworthy.gif

All manufacturer's car have problem to some degree. But I think a lot of reviews commended on the build quality of the Cerato already.

There's a service schedule for Cerato 1.6 posted a few pages back. I believe it's higher due to the fully synthetic requirement for 10000km service interval if you wanna keep the 5 yrs warranty, or 5000km service interval for semi-synthetic. It's around RM 3,000 for 3 years for 1.6SX version, not sure about the 2.0SX version though.

On the other hand, Honda City and Vios is already 10000km service interval but does not enforce the use of fully synthetic oil to keep the warranty. Therefore the service charges is lower. Oh well, it really depends on what you're comparing against.

If you compare to City/Vios, then Cerato maintenance is more expensive. If you compare to Merc/Audi, then it would be cheaper.

Fuel consumption is about 11-13km/L based on information on Fuelly.

careful when u set AUTO, the RECIRC will be auto open and u will complain why it auto open. lolz.. just use manual and it will not auto open.

I think the Auto mode monitors the oxygen and humidity level in the car and lets outside air in if it senses the oxygen level too low.

Recirculation isn't always good after driving a long period of time as it will recirculate the "used" air in the car, causing CO2 level to rise in the car. This will cause fatigue due to oxygen deficiency.

but i dont think ours is that high tech. its not in the manual after all unlike VW it states clearly that it monitors oxy or co2 levels. anyway, malaysia too hot. and i noticed ours open and close like for certain timing hence low tech i believe.

Is it? @Motorman can clarify on this?

Hi, Rm98 for around 510-530km, it real? how can you do like that ? My 7.3-8L/100,  RM100 just 330km-360km, i also try drive not over 3000rpm (80-100kmh), but still just 3++, so so sad, have any suggest for me ?
Thank you.
*
That's not 7.3L/100.... that's 6.93km/L, which imo is pretty bad. 7.3L/100km is ok, but 7km/L is a bit too low.

Mine

I calculate when my sensor tell me my car can only move another 50km (which it no longer showing sny figure). I will pump the petrol normal rm94 - rm 98. It can go 430km.
*
That's only 9km/L. which is also pretty bad.

I thought Ceratos should be in the range of 11-13km/L?

According to news report, it's a KIA. The rim, dashboard and side profile looks like K3.

Hi guys, got my Cerato Bright Silver from BuyDirect last week. Good SA. Patient even when he is busy.

For the car, so far so good. No issues. I have to say 1.6 is really quite powerful enough and good enough for city driving. Can easily push the car to 150 km/h without realizing it because the NVH is pretty good.
Overall this car has everything if you are looking for a comfortable family car, the looks, the gadgets, the space, and safety features.
Fuel consumption wise is pretty acceptable as well. For RM 90 i can get about 490 km. Though this is only my 1st pump. Hopefully it will improve even better overtime.

Want to ask, for 1st 1000 km service, do they automatically do wheel alignment? Or need to request?
*
Currently my fuel consumption is 310km per half tank (25L). Pretty acceptable I would say considering I've been travelling 50% city 50% highway.

Anyone facing weak radio signal issue? Normally I travel along kesas so the signal shouldn't be a problem.

Dude, I wonder how does the shark fin will effect the signal. It just a dummy antenna right? OR does it comes with some circuit connector which will link to the actual antenna on the rear windscreen? Kindly shed some light regarding this. Thanks.  biggrin.gif
*
I think so too. Unless there's some connection you have to make to the radio antenna, I doubt that it'll work.

Pls. keep us posted on this.

Naza Auto not open on weekends? What time it opens until?

My SA (Edwin) mentioned that it might be tinting issue. I'm using Raytech CS85. It blocks the signal?

hi all, my cerato is 1xxxkm now, but during idling i can feel my engine is shaking and even sitting inside the car cabin also can feel a little shaking...

Does it normal to cerato? i felt this after serviced my car yesterday...

my idling rpm is about 700rpm..
*
I don't feel my car shaking. You should ask a few people to test if they're feeling the shaking too. If yes, then there's some problem.

QUOTE(tommyfai @ Sep 9 2014, 11:23 AM)
it does open on weekends but they say to change the parts, supplier is not open on weekends.. so they unable to change.. thats what they telling me. plan to go there again few weeks time.. see what they say, now my radio signal is worse than ever, interference to the max lol..
*
I saw some mod in Elantra thread on the radio signal. The mod was to use the AM antenna for the FM too to enhance the signal. (No more AM)

I did mine, disconnected the AM cable and just tie a normal wire from the FM to the AM antenna . It helps greatly. the sound is also richer.  some put in the shark antenna, means they will either disconnect the windscreen antenna and connect to the shark fin, or put a double head cable, 1 to shark, 1 to the rear screen. The best if the signal booster module from KIA itself can be changed to a stronger one, but more pricey. easy DIY is the short cable to the AM antenna.  cool2.gif

I'm using Raytech CS85 too, and I noticed that there is some degradation in radio signal in certain areas.
Radio signal before tinting was better.
But it doesn't really bother me much, as I listen to MP3 audio more than radio smile.gif

Cannot la bro..must listen to radio see got what new music ma hehe. If only there's Spotify hehe.
