QUOTE(kaizen18 @ Feb 23 2014, 07:12 AM)
i just collected my gorgeous Cerato 1.6 in Golden Beat last Friday.. rclxm9.gif gazillion thanks to my super friendly, super helpful & super duper efficient SA.. Mr. Edwin a.k.a Motorman.. he's the best SA i have ever met.. and the special promotion he offers is soooo irresistible.. drool.gif thumbup.gif
he helped me a lot and have been very patience with me when i can't made up my mind how much loan amount i want to apply.. when i request him to re-appeal the already approved loan (which in record speed within 4 hours).. when i can't choose which colour i want.. and when i asked him a lots of questions.. i know i'm such a pain in the arse.. i'm sorry.. sad.gif

and now.. i'm lovin' every inch of my car.. glad i took the Huper Optik tint and G'Zox Crystal Coating promotion package as well..  it's worth every ringgit i've spend.. i had Locktech Magnetic Brake Pedal Twin Lock installed right after i took my car.. for safety.. scared if it's get stolen.. sweat.gif
then later after that i went for a ride around kl.. i feel the suspension a bit soft to my liking and when driving on uneven road, the car vibration doesn't feels right to me.. so i'm off to smmotorsport workshop and had them installed the Stiff Ring and RBACH Spring Buffer to my car.. omg.. huuugggeee improvement.. brows.gif
now i just have to wait for Ultra Racing to develop K3 bars.. *sigh* hope they'll do it soon..

oh ya.. i'm still in the midst of reading the thick Owner's Manual.. totally blown away with some of the features in this car.. i'm so glad i choose this car rather than Ho*da or To**ta.. i don't give a rat when people say Korean car don't have high RV compare to those Japs car.. i fell in love with this car from the first time i saw it during my drive home from work 3 weeks ago.. and now i'm a proud K3 owner..  icon_rolleyes.gif

Its exhilarating reading your post. I'm extremely happy and rewarding knowing you are satisfied with my service.

what is the interest rate for 1.6  9 years loan and 7 years loan.
*
There is no fix rate for a specific model. The interest rate is not base on tenure alone but also the loan amount & bank. However the variation are not very big. As a general guide it is about 2.4x%.
With some exception there are also banks that give out loan with the interest rate which is base on each individual risk factor.

I think many are really looking at wanting a PERFECT car...too picky, no offence intended  smile.gif  I think if one looks at ALL the cars in the market today, there is no PERFECT car, there is always some "mini tiny itsy bitsy weenie" issues concerning a car, haha.  I can name so many cases of ppl i know with all types of cars fr the sub RM50K++ to RM million that has some issues "bugging" them....there are always issues & most are really totally insignificant & negligible issues.  Of course there are cars really have on-going significant issues...gearbox for instance....but one really need to do more "paper" research - the specs, the safety features (very very important), etc etc etc...look at the bigger picture & MUST MUST go test drive itself & weigh the pros & cons themselves....as each indv has different preference.  If one decided not to get a reasonable good car, no matter what car is it, just becos the radio reception not so good & some rattling sound which can b easily fixed, then its would be so pity isn't it.  I just saying we are need to be wise enough to look at the bigger picture (haha, i say it again)....a car is not merely such tiny issues, the RV or what not....Its more than that.  The world is changing , there are so many quality cars for us all to choose from, enjoy the choices & take advantage of it ....go TEST DRIVE them.

Hi, this is the supervision cluster for 2.0 model, it is a full colour TFT LCD display. Looks nice and the resolution is better.

http://paultan.org/2013/07/04/driven-kia-c...ato_review_069/

while this is the dot matrix display for 1.6, is a single colour display. It serve well for all the basic functionality.

hi bro..
finally your placed a booking. I read fews of your post. My situation exactly like you. Not seldom change car, dilemma between focus vs k3, test drove both...still cant decide. Last week, i test drove the elantra 1.8..overall quite good. But if compare the specs k3 wins...what factor that make u go for k3 over focus...i like focus most but i still not able to take the risk on it powershift.

Maybe this video by Paultan can help you to decide better. Honda Civic vs Cerato vs Focus.

Million thanks to Mr. Edwin Loh a.k.a. Motorman for delivering Kia Cerato 1.6 (Golden Beat) to my girlfriend in less than a week after signed the loan agreement. Glad that I took his advice on tinting and coating because the car looks so awesome.

It was a pleasure experience buying car from him and his car offer is the best. He is superb friendly and nice person so I would like to recommend anyone who is looking to buy any Kia car in Klang valley should check with him first on car offer.

Thanks again and enjoy your vacation.

My experience so far has been generally positive. Especially the one at Motorman's place. The guys do a pretty good job and fast. And the service manager is also quite an insightful person.

The FB groups also seems to indicate generally positive experience with quite a few service centers.

Happy to have this positive remark. Thanks you.

Most welcomed Edwin smile.gif Although I'm still hoping your service center will give options and stock true Group 4 synthetic oils rather than Group 3 that your workshop currently uses.

Group 3 is sometimes classified as "Fully synthetic", but not from a technical perspective:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Synthetic_oil...etic_lubricants
I'm certainly hoping your service center can stock true PAO or Ester based oils. They do cost more, but with our really hot weather now I'm sure some would be willing to pay that premium for the better protection and performance offered by PAO or Ester based oils. I've had very good experience with Ester based oils like Chemlube and really good mileage out of it, when I was using the ultra low viscosity variant.

Hopefully you can give this option someday smile.gif
*
Hi, no doubt there are many brands of lubricant in the market and I can understand for some the urge to try or experiment with some other brand are enormous. However a Kia Authorize workshop will have to follow strict guidelines because of warranty concern and can only use brands of lubricant that are specified by manufacturer.

However I'm glad to inform you that there is a low viscosity fully synthetic imported brand which is available at our workshop that might meet your requirement and most importantly it is approved by Kia Korea. Do contact my service manager directly for a more detail explanation.

Hi, there are many questions from LY members about the the 4.2" and the 8" HU. The 8" HU come with build in GPS/ DVD and almost double the size of the 4.2". Here are some photos for those who would like to know the different. There is an additional discount for the Cerato that come with the 4.2" model.

Thank you Motorman. Can you advise us on how to update the map for this GPS? Is the service centre able to update the map for us for Free? Thanks
*
Hi, service center is not the right place and they are also not equipped to update yr GPS map. There is a booklet from Speednavi which is given to you when you take delivery of the new Kia Cerato. The step by step instruction on how to update the map are all explained inside that booklet.

Updating of Speednavi map:
First you will have to register yourself at the the Speednavi website. www.speednavi.com
Username: It start fr small letter c and follow by the last 6 digit of yr car chassis number. So it will be cxxxxxx.
Password: same as username.

For those who need further assistance you may call Naza Solution for help.

any idea what is the price for old owners to upgrade from 4.2' to 8' HU? also i thought SKD units comes with 4.2' HU, so it means that there are still SKD units left? or the SKD and CKD thing is just a gimmick?
*
Upgrading from the 4.2" to the 8" will cost about 4K plus (Original).
The Cerato with the 4.2" is the balance of earlier SKD batch.

Me too, still in dilemma between these 2 cars, how about you create a poll and ask for others comment?  thumbup.gif

To start with here are some points for consideration about the Cerato 1.6 comparing with the the highest version the V-spec of the H brand.

Segment: Segment-C vs Segment B ----Bigger car
Engine: 1.6L vs 1.5L
Max power 130ps/6000 vs 120ps/6,600 ----- More powerful and achieve max power earlier at lower rpm
Brake ( Rear): Ventilated Disc Brake vs Drum brake
Rim size: 17" vs 16"
Tyre size: 215/45 R17 vs 185/55 R16
Monitor size: 8" vs 7"

There are many other features that should be considered which are only available in the Cerato.
LED Day Running Light
LED Rear Light
Mirror with Puddle Lamp & LED repeater
Auto Folding Side Mirror
Auto, Escort & welcome light
8" monitor with rear view camera display with GPS & DVD
Dual Zone aircon with Ionizer
10-way Power Driver Seat with Memory Seat
Electric Lumber support on driver seat
Paddle shift
4 rear sensor & 2 front sensor
Powered window, Auto up/down with Safety Auto Pinching.

There are many other programmable features that you only can find in the Cerato compare to other brands.
