i just went Cameron with my 1.6 last weekend... wasnt really flooring but avg going uphill at 3-4k rpm... tailing a 2.4l accord... manage to catch up... so 1.6 Cerato isnt really that underpowered as ppl claim... i know some would argue that the accord was light footed... but i went uphill without much sweat... guess a 2.0 would be nicer...

FC wise was quite good.. up and down from Cameron i got 13.28km/l... that is for the simpang pulai road i've taken...

can any owners tell me how often do you use the peddle shifters ??
*
Once, probably last too. the ECU/gearbox a bit draconian, too quick to jump back into D. Also, the performance gains is very minimal for downshift. At 4.8k RPM for max power IINM, is a bit far off. Not enough RPM after that.

what do you mean by too quick to jump back into D. you mean you peddle shifting while the gear is in D or in the S mode?

I scrapped my Cerato at the circled area (same colour as this model) here while trying to avoid kerb. I see the material below it is whitish in colour after scrapping.

Is this material metal or plastic? Looks like plastic, but seems to be one with the metal body. Thinking of respraying the area.

Thanks

That part is certainly metal but it was protected with an anti-stone chip tape protector. The color on the scratches will depend the depth of the damage. If it was white I suspect the damage is at the primer/undercoat layer.

So how bad is this? Is this metal or just plastic?

It look like it is already dented. From the picture the white scratch mark is on the the anti-stone chip layer but the dent is underneath it which is metal. Only a spray painter can repair it to perfection.

Thanks. There are no dents aside from that white scrapping on the car. When I ketuk-ketuk the area, not sure metal or plastic.

For Cerato, when the smart-key run out of battery, there is no slot-in detection for the smart-key, unlike Forte. Instead, the user just need to scan-touch the smart-key on the start-stop button and then start the car in a normal way - step on the brake pedal and push the start/stop button to start the engine.
