QUOTE(subzero7 @ May 24 2014, 08:13 PM) Yup agree with you. Basher of kimchi cars inside this forum are totally motivated by their own ulterior motives. As for me i will totally respect whatever peoples decision. In a country where price of a car is the second highest in this world, every mileage rolled is a hard earned one haha. If Mazda 3 with 1.6 skyactive sold at this price, ya i oso will choose that over kimchi. Even in motorbike market, japan kawasaki really is shaking nowadays. They had to launch a new 250 cc single cylinder rm17k bike coz their market share taken away by bigger bolder best seller superbiker RM14999 Hyosung GTR @ naza blade korean bike. In the End like Japanese Godzilla saying. SIZE DOES MATTER. A 250 CC korean superbike with louder V-twin roar in front of traffic light will command a turn head from other fellow rider than the smaller frame enpensive 250 cc bikes with tiny puny exhaust sound of kawasaki ;p A 1.6 C segment sedan with full specs accesories and full bodykit will command one whole village prying eyes and gossiping back at their owner hometown rather than normal japs tiny puny B segment. Back at my hometown even orang kampung after getting lump sump padi season money is hunting for second hand Forte available. Why? Simply the value of their hard earned money, for normal laymen, the bigger the better. So i realy dont understand all this ruckus muckus trolling of kimchis car by Japs die hard fanboys. Pliz be fair to everybody. Argument of resale value is invalid in many cases. Not everyone change car like change shirt. If after finish my loan and i can sold back for rm15k cash at kampung hahaha i have my big smile already. Just topup and get a new D segment superior Kimchis car if that is valid in 10 years time from now Thank you so much for your clarification. Glad that I picked up d right shop from Kia malaysia website. |

QUOTE(sdram @ Jun 2 2014, 04:59 PM) collected my ride 2.0 on May 29th, Thanks to Edwin aka Motorman for good service. Also had the pleasure of meeting KSLoh aka Buydirect. These guys know their stuff. Despite many questions, they ensured everything was done in order. Appreciate the efforts guys! Thanks boss for the wonderful support. After 5 days, 1st full tank managed to clock 630km, biasa lah..new car, taking it for a spin more often than not fiddling with all the gadgets and controls. Feedback on the car so far Good : 1. Power delivery 2. Spacious 3. Air Ventilated seats Room for improvement: 1. Rear absorbers. can feel it bottoming out with passenger load (4 ppl) or cargo 2. Touch screen isn't sensitive enough despite calibirating it twice. 3. Some rattling sound from back right door or tyres when going thru speed breaker yellow lines. 4. Seat warmer only available on front passenger seat. Should have cool air too esp for Malaysian weather. No point having warmers here. JPJ already ensured that Noobie questions - when GPS is on, notice the radio volume reduces and sound bounces from speaker to speaker. Is this normal? |

QUOTE(Zurusan @ Jun 4 2014, 08:10 PM) Update on the 'died' led problem. They (Kia Red Cube) changed the entire headlamp with a new unit. The problem solved. Less than 2 weeks to solve. Very good service I would say. I share the before/after (left/right) photo herewith. Congratulation! That show how important is the warranty. |

Rear View Camera 7. Keyless Entry with Push start button and smart key 8. Smart Welcoming system (Puddle Lamp & Pocket Light) 9. Front & Rear Assist System 10. Rear Aircon Vent. This is NAZA's attempt to compete in the sub 90K market, dominated by many B segment Japanese models, thus giving much value for money to those seeking for a bigger C segment car, but do not mind missing out on some luxurious features. It is somewhat close to what KIA FORTE used to offer to the Malaysian market, but the Cerato is of course a much improved design in overall styling. |

The New Kia Cerato KX have just arrived at my showroom. Generally it look the same as the high spec version of the Cerato K3. Barely noticeable are some of the accessories which are not found in the KX as compare to the K3 high spec version. However the important features in the KX that still make this car impressive & exciting like the push start, smart key, Day running light, multimedia audio system with GPS/ Bluetooth /DVD/Radio , auto cruise, reverse camera, 4 reverse sensor, 17" alloy sport rims, auto folding side mirror, welcome light, puddle light , supervision cluster meter & auto leveling light are all still available.

QUOTE(Demonic Wrath @ Jul 4 2014, 01:23 PM) All manufacturer's car have problem to some degree. But I think a lot of reviews commended on the build quality of the Cerato already. It is a fair comment but at the same time we must bare in mind that City & Vios are from the smaller car category (Segment-B) and the Kia Cerato is a bigger car (Segment-C) with bigger engine capacity. Depending on individual most people average mileage is about 20,000-25,000 per year so the requirement for service is only twice a year. The difference in term of service cost is therefore minimum. A fully synthetic lubricant is always better then a semi so the engine life will be longer and performance will be better too. There's a service schedule for Cerato 1.6 posted a few pages back. I believe it's higher due to the fully synthetic requirement for 10000km service interval if you wanna keep the 5 yrs warranty, or 5000km service interval for semi-synthetic. It's around RM 3,000 for 3 years for 1.6SX version, not sure about the 2.0SX version though. On the other hand, Honda City and Vios is already 10000km service interval but does not enforce the use of fully synthetic oil to keep the warranty. Therefore the service charges is lower. Oh well, it really depends on what you're comparing against. If you compare to City/Vios, then Cerato maintenance is more expensive. If you compare to Merc/Audi, then it would be cheaper. Fuel consumption is about 11-13km/L based on information on Fuelly. This post has been edited by Motorman: Jul 4 2014, 01:49 PM |

QUOTE(jarcmercier @ Jul 8 2014, 10:28 AM) Yea, would be most welcomed if can share with all how to come up with the view that it has pathetic resale value. We all need to do more research before making certain conclusion. Especially if one is interested to own a car. Reading from a single forum or hearsay from some ppl are just not enough. So far i have no idea what's the resale value is because its a new car & i yet to hear any 2nd hand ones Cerato being offered. But i think i can say Forte has good resale value & at par with other japanese makes. At my place, kuching, few ppl i know has sold off their Forte on their own (not trade in) & they managed to sold it off at only 10-15% reduction over original price after 2 years ownership. So i suppose its pretty decent resale value. Sofar mileage that i know is quite good also. It is very important to note that FC depends on traffic/where u drive & the way it is drove. If almost 100% highway with minimal jam or long distant without must traffic lights stops, one would get about 6++ L /100km or pump in RM95 of RON95 to travel about 600++ km (again just a example of range depends on how aggressive u step on the gas). So we have really a wide range of FC quotes all over. For me, who stays in city & drive mostly city area, & those who stays in kuching would know that we have lost of traffic lights & jam is bad too & we need to have many stops as roads are short distant (traffic lights, junctions, roundabouts) and my Cerato 1.6 does average of RM92 RON95 (44L) for 450-470km, thats about 9.4L / 100km. I'm ok with it considering the traffic & city road that i drive daily. If i ever drive to outskirt towns during weekend, for a 100km kinda distant, its easily will reach 6++ L /100km with 90km/h-100km/h of speed. Again, I think its gd FC. Please do your own FC calculate, starting from the point when u pump in petrol to the nex time when u re-pump. Its easy DIY calculation which i'm sure we all can do. The L/km figures & remaining km on the dashboard are just estimates. Our own calculations are accurate enough. On rattling sound, again, i have said i previous posts, it seems affecting all other car makes. Of course not all cars of a particular make wil have it. I myself dun encounter a single rattling sound on my K3 after owning it for 1 yr. My sunglasses do make noise in the compartment but just a little adjustmt then OK d & thats not car rattling sound anyway, haha. Tyre noise? some do complaint they are noisy but thats for the CBU Nexen tyres, i dun think u hv such issue with the Continental ones with the CKD batch. I think we all need to accept CKD cars may, and i repeat, may, have quality issue on assembly of parts as compared to CBU, and it may applies to all car makes. Basically, we all need to have a fair-mind to form our own opinion on anything. And it is most important when we want to invest in the item itself. Please take the effort & time to research from reliable sources. I just give 1 example of a "source" and you all can surely shake your heads after reading it. I'm not saying bad about the car make, just an example to show an biased and sole-motive to sell a car by an SA ------------ I was with my friend at Toyota showroom to view the new vios just 2 weeks ago. We said to the SA, its 4-speed & kinda pity....then the SA said why Toyota only want 4 -speed is because all the 5-6 speed out there all have problems, the VW, Ford, Honda....i mean he named almost all the other "rivals" & said thats why Toyota so smart only come out with 4 speed to avoid the 5-6 speed problems everywhere. We both looked at each other & were like "huh, walao eh, like this kinda of reason also can say ah??!! This SA got any real knowledge or not??" So here it goes, we all need to be smart to form any opinion. Cheers & good luck to those who are looking into new cars. QUOTE(sukhoi35mk @ Jul 8 2014, 02:32 PM) the safety features itself (not the KX) already can throw the pathetic resale value to rubbish bin.... the interior quality is a bonus..... when come to mileage what is the accepted mileage for a C segment?... i tot in Driven episode 4, paultan and the gang already proven that 2.0 can be more fuel economy compare to FB2.0 with Eco Mode and ford with the latest direct injection.... it's all depending on ur right leg dude... real malaysia road test and not l hear from who and who Fair comments!! |
