RHB teams up with Shell and Visa to launch co-branded credit card



KUALA LUMPUR (Jan 22): RHB Banking Group has inked a long-term strategic collaboration with Shell Malaysia and Visa to launch the co-branded RHB Shell Visa Credit Card/-i.

In a joint statement, the bank said the card is designed to provide customers with convenience, flexibility and rewards for both their online and offline purchases on a single credit card.

RHB group managing director Datuk Khairussaleh Ramli said the new RHB Shell Visa Credit Card/-i caters to evolving needs of consumers, while at the same time simplifying customer experience by consolidating rewards for fuel and non-fuel spending under a single credit card.

“In addition to cashback on fuel, it also provides cardholders more returns on their online and physical purchases of everyday essentials.

“We expect to further accelerate our credit card acquisition through this long-term partnership with well-known market leaders Shell and Visa, with a target of 100,000 new applications within the next 12 months,” he said.

RHB said in terms of card benefits, cardholders will receive extra savings of up to RM100 per month with 5% cash rebates for online transactions, which include RM50 for petrol transactions, and RM50 for e-wallet top-ups, utility bill payments, groceries and other daily expenses.

Moreover, customers would benefit from cash rebates of up to 12% on petrol transactions at all Shell stations nationwide — one of the highest rates for petrol cashback credit cards in Malaysia.

My application to RHB shell visa is unsuccessful.
Hmm, should wait for some time and then reapply later?
My cc application to Maybank failed quite many times before also , no idea why fail, as I am having house loan with MBB and my salary goes to MbB too.
but still can get CC approval from public bank, UOB, affin bank, CIMB

My card arrived in branch! Sms received on 10 feb. Not too bad

Two SMSes will be sent out:

3/2/2021: SMS notifying card has been approved
8/2/2021: SMS notifying card will reach within 2 weeks
11/2/2021: Branch called for card pick up

Card delivered to your mailing address?

At where you encountered such error?

The problem can be easily solved if you have a RHB ATM card!

So what happened next? Walked away?

Seriously with the phone statement? 

What is the reason for having the phone statement?

This sounds ridiculous and absurd.

It is the same mobile phone number that is used to receive the OTP/TAC for authorizing online/e-commerce transaction.

Shouldn't they request the mobile phone number statement during credit card application instead?

This is the first bank I encountered so far that request for mobile phone number.

Do manually is still acceptable as Affin also got the similar practice.
The absurd thing is to produce proof as the mobile phone number owner.
