Hi. I’m new to RHB cc card. Recently i got rhb shell visa cc-i from ringgitplus. But the bank gave me both shell visa cc and rhb cash back cc-i even though I didn’t request the latter.

I noticed in the rhb app, both cards have combine cc limit. I haven’t activate the rhb cash back cc yet bc i think the card did not suits my needs.

My questions:
1. What will happen to the cc limit if i continue did not activate the rhb cash back cc?
2. What are the benefits of the rhb cash back cc? I find it quite confusing as i read t&c. It has different categories of cash back for dining, groceries and online dining/groceries 🤔. What kind of transactions categorized as online dining/grocery? How can we dining online 😅
*
1. No change, but advise to cancel it if u don’t intend to activate/ use the credit card..
2. Similar to shell card, tier spending for different categories but cashback capping lower..
3. EWallet top up, online purchase at e-commerce etc.. check out the exclusion for different card tnc

Hi sifu, for RHB Shell card, the tier spending of 2500 not necessary all must be the cashback category am I right? Understand gov spending not entitle for cashback, but, is gov spending can be use to hit the spending tier? If yes, I've gov spending posted on statement date, can it be treated as next month spending requirement to hit the max cashback tier?

5% for Online/ewallet/groceries/others that i cant remember, so you need $1000 here. 12% for Shell, so you need $417. Others are filler spends. Unsure if Govt spending can be used as filler spends.

I don't think filler spends (assume Govt qualifies) can be used for next month. Only cashback will be Counted Now Credited Later, not carried forward into next month. Maybe others can comment.

oo, this is the first time i use RHB card for government spending, n so coincidence it posted on statement date, as this is big amount, if can c/f to next month spending will be good... wonder any others can share their experience on this: icon_question.gif
1. whether government spending is qualified as part of filler spends to meet tier spending
2. whether this filler spends (whether this gov/ non-gov txn) can be c/f to next month as filler spend if posted on current month statement date. I remember i c somewhere sharing they use FPX txn as cumulative spending to meet tier spending for RHB shell...

Same issue with mine though I did receive my statement via email. My statement is on the 22nd, called CS on the 24th & was told that the cashback will be credited in the next statement.
Is this still the case? My statement date is on the 22nd. By 20-AUG, I only accumulated RM677.42 which I'm fully aware wasn't sufficient to get any cashback. I quickly top-up ShopeePay RM1822.57 on 21-AUG & they got posted on 22-AUG. After reading your posts, I thought the RM1822.57 will be used for next CB cycle but when I checked my statement, they're listed along.

Therefore, based on your experience, are the 2 transactions' cashback fall still valid for current CB cycle or they're indeed in next CB cycle?

I don't exactly understand your question but those 2 transactions are counted in my August (22-AUG - 21-SEP) cashback cycle.
*
Hmm.. because we need to hit 2500 spending to be eligible for 12% Shell cashback & 5% on those online/ utilites/ ewallet etc. so, for ur statement dated 22 Sep, do u spend another 2500 (posted between 22 Aug - 21 Sep)? Or u count the 2 shopeepay txn as part of 22 sep statement spending?

All my usual Shell stations I went to previously which allowed this no longer accept credit card for TnG Reload Pin purchases.

Are there any Shell stations that still accept in KV? If yes, appreciate if someone can share. If scared to share openly, would appreciate a PM smile.gif

Pm me too if there is.. thanks

yeah correct as it base on my current salary.
yet i did not know got such offer, else i will just swap to premium account and unlock more credit limits since i hv huge money in FD saving.
My personal banker ask me to switch the FD name so i can unlock more reward.. now feel like wasted... biggrin.gif
ya, new card holder as i found out their card dont hv annual fee while other bank do hv for high tier card.
i know we can call in to waive it, but why we need to do the call in when other bank can just waive it.
back to the cash excess, so no hidden charges right? i just want to be sure on it
*
that is new cardholder benefits, whack to the max... as it is only 1 time offer... no hidden charges unless u pay late which will charge u interest

Oops I saw rm30 too.

Personally I feel 5% petrol cash back is too low to make in impact. Groceries 5% also, there are comparable card out there like maybank Amex and cimb Petronas VI. E Wallet capped at rm10, technically that’s the only “real” cash back you are getting. Utilities 5% is also negligible if you know how to use PAM machine.

Oversea spending is out of question, very small chance you are utilizing it.

Most probably will cut my wife’s card, and for my own to monitor because they are waiving sst
*
min spend 250 to get RM10, effective rate is only 4% for groceries n Utilities... min spend for ewallet 500 with cb capped RM10, effective rate 2%

if follow the old revision, BT installment should not have been considered as a filler, as it is not a retail spend. but somehow, I have been able to maximise my cashback for past 3 years even though i spend less 1.5k monthly on this card. BT helped to meet the 2.5k expenses

new TnC clearly mentioned excluded now, so really not useful card anymore

The following transactions are expressly excluded from Monthly Total Eligible Spend calculation and no Cash Back will be granted:
3.6.1 CashXcess;
3.6.2 Balance Transfer;
3.6.3 Dial-An-Instalment, Balance Conversion or Auto Balance Conversion instalments;
3.6.4 Cash Advance;
3.6.5 Instalment plans (for example Smart Instalment Payment Plan);
3.6.6 Quasi Cash (for example gambling / betting, cryptocurrencies);
3.6.7 Annual Card Membership fees, Interest, Late payment charges, Card Service Tax (CST) and/or any
applicable taxes imposed from time to time;

Existing TnC just said no cashback, but new tnc said excluded as eligible spend

The following transactions are expressly excluded and no Cash Back will be granted for such using the Card:
3.4.1 Petrol transactions for brands other than Shell.
3.4.2 Balance Transfer, Cash Advance transactions;
3.4.3 Quasi Cash transactions (Example: Betting, Gaming transactions);
3.4.4 Annual Card Membership fees, Interest, Late payment charges, Card Service Tax (CST)
and/or any applicable taxes imposed from time to time.
3.4.5 Payment to charity/Social service organisations under MCC 8398.
3.4.6 Any government related payments under designated MCC as below:-

so, if statement date b4 28th, need to spend asap to make sure it posted by 27th July to enjoy the last benefits... But, guess the minimum spend requirement will still follow 3k.. hmm.gif

also, not sure what is the Duitnow Transactions under eligible spend... how to use Duitnow transaction with CC?
