Alright, so it is at the end of the statement date.

By the way, paper statement or e-statement?

It's a paper statement... no PDF version available to download.

I printed my own EPF statement from KWSP website + fill-up the printed ApplicationPDF form. + IC photocopy.
I asked for urgent processing as I needed for my travels, Human Nature card application took longer (normal procedure)

I got a disturbing news from colleague/friend. She applied a credit card from RHB roadshow booth in my company.

She received the card but didn't activate the card for usage. Somehow, a statement mailed to her house and slapped with RM 50 GST.

She called to RHB CS and said that the card has been activated. The CS also said the possibility of activation could come from the agent itself by just supplying the applicant IC number.

I found out that this is so not safe practice. I asked her to demand the CS to cancel the card and not to pay for the GST. If RHB doesn't want to do, I also asked her to file a complaint to BNM.

Guys, please be careful. Luckily I insisted that both of my RHB cards to be cancelled.

Some banks will charge the GST once the card is issued. In this case, need to check what is the practice by RHB or what is the guideline by BNM. Personally, I always consider that GST will be charged, regardless whether it is activated or not.

The major concern here is actually on the card activation, and this certainly need to be investigated as it amounts to fraud. I would strongly pursue this issue and direct go to BNM.

add: The card activation procedure for RHB is the most lengthy compared to most of my other cards by the way.

i've actually called to RHB and enquired that as long as the card is not activated there will not be GST charged.
This is due to i actually apply for one card but i receive 2cards - bladdy unethical agent mad.gif ....i was advise to keep since there will be no GST charge if the card is not activated.
now i start to get worried about another card which i did not apply....have to cancel it asap shakehead.gif
How the agent able to activate the card...you'll required the expiry date of the card hmm.gif

The same happened to me. I have specially told the agent that I'm only going to apply one card.

God knows and I received SMS that another card is also being approved and issued.

Always make sure you cancel out other cards in the application form, and cross out the IC and income documents, stating specifically which card is being applied for.
