again need some clarifications since kepala sudah pening.

eon is now same as proton edar? why when i inquired a saga from eon, they say must service at eon service center? if go other centres , they say maybe later got problem with any warranty claim....

looks a bit messy with all this dealerships.

so is it better to just go direct to proton edar branch to get a saga ?

is it a must to keep servicing at one SC since might service in different states while travelling..?
never used a proton since years ago.... but i feel this saga SV is something worth getting.

Lastly, is it a wise choice getting the SV? or better consider the standard version since price is rm5k diff?
*
Since I am an Eon customer (not Proton Edar) maybe I can help clear some of your confusion. Both Eon and PE are under same father different mother. If you know what I mean. Quite redundant if you ask me, 2 business units doing the same stuff. But this creates competition in their protected market. My personal opinion, buying the car is the same from both dealerships, just go look out for the best offers. When it comes to servicing, this is where the competition fires up. Both Eon and PE cant see eye to eye. I clarified this with my Eon Service Advisor. They do not share a database. Which is good, if say at PE Sc you cant claim a warranty, just go to Eon SC and claim, you may get to claim after all. I also feel Eon SCs give better service and are more well equipped since they were doing Proton servicing much earlier than PE.

About servicing at different SCs it is okay, just bring along your booklet. Any authorised SCs will do. But again I recommend Eon.

Lastly about Saga SV. Since I drive a Flx, I strongly advise, PLEASE DO NOT GET THE SV. The car cannot get cheaper and better. Something has got to give. Please I got stung by Proton's price cutting before when I bought the discounted Tiara. I dont want to go into more details, but bear in mind, THERE IS NO FREE LUNCH IN THIS WORLD.

just dont know why salesman said better to service at eon branches!

3 month!? r u sure?> this is mad...i told the salesman want fast... most 1 month max... everything also they say can.
*
Have you seen Eon authorised SC as small as those Proton Edar ones?

I have actually seen Proton Edar SCs the standard like some bawah pokok ceri mekaniks...

also one with only 2 service lots.... and can only do simple oil change......they admitted it, when I asked them about claiming my rear brake drum warranty... they stare at me like I am speaking urdu to them....

Sorry, for me, I only trust EON SCs.

Just to let you know, grounding kit is for car that has less conductive chassis, to provide a return path of electricity. If you already installed with erictioh grounding kit, Ular Oren will do very little effect because the grand sifu already grounded most possible point.

Reason I make the Ular Oren is for people who have no grounding kit in their car. And ofcourse some of us despite having existing grounding kit, to add on another extra thick grounding cable just to provide another highway path for smoother traffic. I discover the usage of the engine hook by accident. Before the discovery I already have erictioh VS in my car, the thing is besides of aircond kick in reduce, there are very minimal effect. Until 1 fine day I left my jump start cable hook at the engine hook and be forgotten it in there. The time I drove the car figured throttle lag had greatly reduced. Engine response has been improved quite drastically.

It's not magic. It's not performance product. It's neither ayam trying to sell anything. Most people know voltage stabilizer works best with grounding cable. Ayam the only ignorant keep saying car is new no need grounding kit until the accidental discovery. Doing a 5ft long 300amp cable with high grade copper lugs for RM20 is plain idiotic. If anyone dare to say me earn money or going commercial, I will so b**** slap the motherf***er.

Again I would like to emphasize, I'm not an electrical engineer. It's all discovered by accident. To me, the only point I trust is the back engine hook. But hey, the front engine hook is also hook on the cylinder head, by right there's no different if you hook at the front. Some may ask whether can put more Ular Oren in the car, for your case put on both engine hook. My opinion in this is totally negligible. Our alternator only generate as much as 90amps, using a 300amp cable is consider overkill already. If added another 300amps on the same cylinder head, again I think the effect will be very minimal, probably close to none.

Perhaps, go and install erictioh's VS and GC first. If you decided RM20 is small price to pay, then just put 1 in the car aside than what you have already purchased from eric. For me, do or no do the Ular Oren also no problem geh, so don't worry or think if turn me down whether will offend me smile.gif

but isn't it the same SV vs standard, exec, SE. *performance wise la

what they cut cost in SV is mostly Add-ons stuff like the paint jobs, first aid kit, coil mats(-.-) etc etc.(all these can go do your ownself for few hundred $ to cover it up and then it looks exactly like a standard or exec) and SV got + more safety feature than older flx.. So isn't that a good thing?

Proton own words: No compromise in comfort, safety and performance when SV came into mind***
Just my 2sen, because im looking at buying it.. Feel free to correct me and give additional info  notworthy.gif
*
Bro, I am stating based on my own experience. I cannot say SV is like super inferior etc but, just think realistically. If you are doing business, say selling Nasi Lemak, your normal Nasi Lemak no Chicken Wing you sell Rm3.00. But now add Chicken Wing, minus the kacang goreng only you sell at Rm2.50.....
Can make sense or not?

Ok my experience, my friend bought the Tiara at Rm36k. He is still driving it until today. I bought the Discounted Tiara at Rm27K..... the Discounted Tiara still had alloy rims, cassete player, 4 windows powered..... almost nothing changed...... but....

my gearbox faulty at 50k kms, my drive shaft broke at 20k kms... so cosmetic wise cannot see, but internally? gearbox, when I asked Proton SC..... they sort of said....."looks different from the Rm36k model" and had many complaints..... of course, they cannot say officially, the mechanic only mentioned to me. when he drove me and the car out of the SC for test drive after fixing the faulty gearbox....

so u say leh?

Proton own words.? aiyah even snake oil seller say his oil magic la....

So bro, up to you. if you can fork out the difference, Please buy the FLX ! if can exec so you can get the ABS, EBD and 2 airbags.

I already asked the sales person, SV is also FLX it's just different (dont know how to say) lines.. SV also got 2 airbags(thats why i say SV got + safety features than current FLX standard, other safety features include the V bar thingy) As I know only flx exec has abs, ebd not sure..

As for the internals, the SV using all the same as current FLX leh, nothing changed.
*
if SV is the same as FLX Exec trim just because of the 2 airbags... then better buy viva.... save more....

like I said, they added a chicken wing for you, still can chop the price ah?
Airbags without ABS and EBD makes no sense. Yes Exec trim has ABS and EBD.

V bar? like they who saw it said, it is just metal stamping pieces. better have 3max rear seat brace.... opps... sorry mahihi no offence intended.....

Internals, can you see the inside of the engine? can you the difference in the drive shaft?
Can you see the electrical systems?

so up to you bro. the money is yours. you want SV, you go buy la.... but dont say I never warned you....

There are stuffs that they might reduced as well that you don't see.

For example, when the FLX came out we found that it did not have the foam behind the bumper and bitumen coating in the wheel arches. These are the things that they cut cost on and never tell you.

Anyway, you just buy within your means la. I won't recommend Viva even if I have to take a bus.

thanks for the clarification. no wonder eon salesman say better service as eon. now i understand why smile.gif

as fot the sv, the price cut is very clear with the reduction of certain accesories. the car is basicallt the same so i dont thinkk there will be any problems.

for your flx, does it come with side mirror controls?
*
Yes my FLX has side mirror controls, only no electrical closing.

And yes, EON SC to my opinion and experience with them much better.
I have just booked my session for my Proton Bushing Recall campaign for FLX. Done via a simple phone call.

So you may buy from any dealership which can give you the best offer, but service at EON.

how much is your flx? 46k? the 41k also dont have side mirror controls

Hi, mine is FLX Exec Manual. Cost Rm42K but got Rm1.5K discount as I did not get the colour i wanted so I ketuk the company kau kau....wanted a Brown (looks like gold) second choice was white actually but I didnt say that, when they say brown no ready stock- the SA say all colour available, I make noise and settle for the white with the discount... white got another Rm450 off for solid colour! ha ha ha

can share the service cost for 1k, 55 10k 15k 20k?
do they add those unnessasary stuff like petrol bbosster, engine oil treatment during service?

So far, when I serviced at Eon SC, they point out all the things to me. I only agreed to a Engine Tufoil at 10k. But at Proton Edar SC Melaka, they strapped on a uncalled for magnatrap crap.... when my wife send it to service 5k km there.... so I anti PE SC for their poor service and force selling..

Cost servicing
1k at Eon, around 200+ for Petronas Syntium 800 Semi Synthethic oil.
5k at Proton Edar, I dunno how much, my wife did it, but the magnacrap cost Rm69.
10K at Eon around 300+ because I switched to Petronas Syntium 1000 Fully Synthethic because the 800 is crap... especially if driven long distance.
20K at Eon around 500, because Manual Gear oil changed, coolant changed and Petronas Syntijm 1000 used.

Not reached 30k yet.

.

reason i am asking the cost is i might want to pass the car to my dad to replace his aging wira and make sure he knows every details beforehand.

no problem a lot sifus here willing to share their experience

so if i get from eon, it would be ok if service in eon penang and eon kl or ipoh alternately?

No problem, just bring the booklet along

does any sales center accept cc payment for deposit or even full payment by cc?

not sure, you got ask
