4th It for you! Install XBMC, insert add on Navi-X and you can watch the latest HD movie and live tv all around the world. plus its free.
5th It for you and your mom, if you still not satisfy with tons of show. Go play store install app call AMO TV.

It is so simple to use even my dad know how to use it to watch live sport in HD.

I think with this you can stick to TV whole day long.

you can watch what ever match whatever sport you like in HD in condition your broadband is fast enough to stream HD content as my streamyx 4mb just ok to stream 720p live tv. 1080p will be lag and buffering. So faster is better.

to me, there seems to be two alternatives to astro:

1) use skybox/openBox/dreamBox

- pros: no annual fees, no need astro dish, will not be affected by changes made by astro

- cons: need faster internet, not easy to use by old people
2) use Android MK808

- pros: easy to use by old people, plug-n-play, 512kbps is enough

- cons: need annual fees (rm250?), will be affected by astro if they change their decoder/card.
I read that "Once Astro completed the free Beyond decoder/smart card replacement, that's the end of it unless someone can decode the new Beyond smart card which is locked to one decoder only." -- and this might happen at early 2014 - can anyone confirm it?

Noob to XBMC, yesterday downloaded an add in file...dunno what's the name....not very interesting....somemore got a few XXX channels....haiyo....got kid in the house deh....cannot let them touch XBMC........is it possible to edit those downloaded file to remove the XXX channels???
If this thing works fine, will consider to hunt an Android TV gadget which works with XBMC....who here have an Android TV working with XBMC? Can share your model???

Don't remember the name....got some XXX channels, not a lot.....btw, how do you access the channels? Just go to the 'Video' and scroll the channel list?

Even in Google playstore, can easily accidentally search for sexual material (maybe not XXX, but maybe naked girls photos app)...not really suitable to let kid use the Google App store on the Android TV box.
