Hardware how often do i need to sync ipad with itunes?, is it only for first time setup?

considering of buying ipad mini for my mom, but the pc is on third floor dont want her to climb up.

no itunes is used if only if you want to sync your apps/games to your ipad.And also updte the device. Without a pc still can backup/and sync apps to icloud (need fast internet connection if want this shit done quickly).Also you dont need itunes for first setup and u can update ios directly from that device.

iTunes is like the middleman between your PC and device. No middleman, you can't get things transferred (with the exception of iCloud compatible items).

you wont need iTunes unless you want to put some music, videos, etc into your iPad
