Now i am using Xperia SOla (laggy mid range phone ). Should i get Note 2 or S4 LTE??
or wait Note 3 smile.gif
*
The Note series is made for productivity and business use, thus the S-pen and larger size.

If you can handle the larger size, and don't want to wait, then get a Note 2.

If you think anything more than 5" is too big, get an S4.

If you can wait, then wait for a Note 3, which is expected to be 6".

Do read post 4 under Reviews and Testimonies for what a lot of people from ALL OVER THE WORLD have shared from their use of the Note 2.

And this post on XDA just a couple of days ago:

You are right, the Note 2 stock ROM is the best ever TouchWiz ROM of all Samsung phones. I was also on rooted stock for several months and got comfortable with it.

cool2.gif good conspiracy theory.

QUOTE(benny888 @ Jun 18 2013, 08:07 AM)
Those of you who love the Note 2 will have no issues with the bigger 6 inch Note3. You will get use to it within a day. Having used the bigger 5.9 Vega, 6.1 Mate n 6.3 Mega I would say Note 2 size 5.5 seems small already
Nowadays you see Sony, HTC n several China n Korean makers jumping into the 5.3 to 6.4 display sizes to capture a slice of this increasing market
It is like what Steve Job had said, something along these lines " create something for the user who does not really know what they want" n having used it they just cannot accept anything else
When Samsung released the 5.3 Note many expect it to fail. History had proven this wrong
My first 5incher Dell Streak was a failure mainly due to its bad lag n mediocre performance. The Note easily dispose it off
*
Thank you uncle benny. Note 3 will have a fight on its hands and this will be a very interesting year.

QUOTE(kurtkantoi @ Jun 18 2013, 08:10 AM)

All of us thought N2 & S3 will get 4.2.2 when S4 release. Looks like Samsung pull a fast one &
may release only after N3 launch in Sept/Oct.  mad.gif
*
I'm wondering if sony releases the zu 6.44 in 2 weeks' time will samsung wait till oct? There is likely credible competition this year. The xz was released 1 mth befire s4 and htc1 at the same time as s4. Despite production issues htc1 is influencing buyers and so is the xz. I don't know what samsung thinks but I believe they shd be prepared with the note3.

i shared earlier... i dun expect Note 2 to be getting that update so soon... coz otherwise, they won't have any good reason to sell Note 3.

4.2.2 should come with most of the things that S4 has got like dual camera recording, etc... they should all run fine on Note 2. and if note 3 dun have anything new and interesting to sell, they'd lose sales to Note 2.
i think we can start to see price of smartphones going downwards...
*
ASP avg selling price going down is a good thing due to multiple suppliers unlike the processor market where intel is unchallenged.

A note3 at rrp 2099 will be really sweet with 32gb and lte.

i dunno la... i still think hitting 6" will be weird for me. the thought of putting that to my face (i know, its only 0.5" difference between note 2's 5.5") plus it might be stretching my hands a bit when i play or use with two hands (holding it with one and writing with another)...

dunno la... i guess i need to feel the 6" out there and see how it goes... wait, that sentence came out kinda awkward...  doh.gif

laugh.gif so much fun with 6" hahahahahaha

UPDATE:

Your Android device is not the place to store your photos
http://www.androidcentral.com/your-android...ore-your-photos

When (not if) you lose everything on your phone or tablet, you'll be thankful you backed up the important things

We just got another heart-breaking email from a reader who has lost all their pictures and video because the SD card in their Android device went belly-up. We get at least a few of these every week, and it's horrible having to tell folks that there is a very good chance they'll need to use complicated forensic data retrieval tools to have any hope of getting those memories back if they can even get the media to be recognized in a computer again. Not having a good answer is the worst part of our jobs.

Now, this is not the SD card vs. no SD card debate. The same thing can happen with the internal storage on your phone, and while corruption isn't as common, accidentally erasing everything is more frequent -- especially when folks are tinkering with things and wiping and flashing "stuff". Don't go thinking this doesn't apply to you, because it does.

No matter if you have 64GB SD cards, or 64GB of free space on your phone, or even just 2GB of free space, don't use it to store all those pictures and videos you'll never be able to get back if you lose them.

There are all sorts of methods to save all those pictures of friends and family, some simple and others more complicated. But I promise there is at least one that will work for you. If you're OK with the cloud, I can personally recommend DropBox and Google+ as great ways to store all those pictures and video, and they have fine grained settings to control when to upload, so you can stay away from your data cap and use Wifi. Other services may be the same, so be sure to investigate all of your options.

Or maybe you're not a cloud kind of person. That's fine. Plug your phone into your computer and drag the folders with your pictures and videos to a backup location that isn't quite as volatile as your phone's storage. I promise, one day you'll erase everything, or drop your phone into the pool (or worse). When that day comes, you'll be glad you kept good backups.

Busy day, but something quite informative:

1080p Does Matter – Here’s When (Screen Size vs. Viewing Distance vs. Resolution)
http://carltonbale.com/1080p-does-matter/

I’ve read various articles debating the importance of the 1080p. I want to set the record straight once and for all: if you are serious about properly setting up your viewing room, you will definitely benefit from 1080p (and even 1440p.) Why? Because the 1080p resolution is the first to deliver enough detail to your eyeball when you are seated at the proper distance from the screen. But don’t just take my word for it: read on for the proof.

There are a few obvious factors to being able to detect resolution differences: the resolution of the screen, the size of the screen, and the viewing distance. To be able to detect differences between resolutions, the screen must be large enough and you must sit close enough. So the question becomes “How do I know if need a higher resolution or not?”. Here is your answer.

Based on the resolving ability of the human eye (with 20/20 vision it is possible to resolve 1/60th of a degree of an arc), it is possible to estimate when the differences between resolutions will become apparent. Using the Home Theater Calculator spreadsheet as a base, I created a chart showing, for any given screen size, how close you need to sit to be able to detect some or all of the benefits of a higher resolution screen. (Click the picture below for a larger version.)

article continues, interesting read.

Might we get wind of Note 3 on Thursday night? 7pm BST... 2am Friday lerrrr..........

Samsung to live-stream its Galaxy & ATIV event from London
http://www.androidcentral.com/samsung-live...iv-event-london

A quick heads up for those of us who can't make it to London on Thursday for Samsung's Galaxy & ATIV event -- it'll be streamed live on YouTube. Specifically, you can find it at youtube.com/SamsungMobile.

Start time is 7 p.m. BST, or 2 p.m. on the east cost of the U.S., or 11 a.m. out west.

We don't know precisely what Samsung's bringing our way, as far as Android is concerned, but it wouldn't surprise us if we get a look at Samsung's recently announced Galaxy S4 Zoom camera, or the rumored Galaxy Camera 2 -- or possibly even the as-yet-unannounced Galaxy NX mirrorless camera. Or perhaps something completely different.

Best way to experience it, though, is to be there in person, and we'll be on-hand at the event from London.

Galaxy Note III Coming September; Analyst Confirms
http://androidheadlines.com/2013/06/galaxy...t-confirms.html

We all know it’s coming, the Galaxy Note III that is, Samsung have stuck to the same release schedule for the paste two years and this time around, there’s nothign to suggest that things are going to change. The Galaxy Note line is an important product line for Samsung, and what was once a niche market for those that needed a bigger phone, it’s now becoming something of a mainstream product.

Analysts are a funny bunch the world over, that much is obvious but, they often hold more knowledge than us and occasionally they let a little slip, as FNNews reports. This time around, a reputable analyst has been talking about Samsung and the lowered sales forecast for the Galaxy S 4, and while he was at it he let slip that the Galaxy Note III was on track for a September release. This isn’t exactly shocking when you think about it but, it is good to know that Samsung are looking to keep the Note line very much alive and kicking.

If you remember, the Galaxy Note II was announced at the IFA conference in Berlin last year and if the Note III is headed for a September release, it stands to reason that IFA will see yet another Note announcement. This year’s IFA runs from September 6th to the 13th – plenty of time for Samsung to announce another big-seller, no?

When the Note II hit the scene, there was little out there that could compete, not just in size but in added value. A larger smartphone does not always make for a better smartphone, Samsung have always known this, which is why the S-Pen plays such a pivotal role in the Note line of products. This year though, phones have gotten a lot larger and Samsung themselves are selling the Galaxy Mega series for those that just want something bigger. There’s word that an upcoming Sony smartphone is going to take on the Galaxy Note, not just in size but, also in terms of added features. The question is, can Samsung keep their “phablet” crown?

From my anticipation, nope.. no Note 3 until Q4 or end of Q3.
Most probably the New Samsung Galaxy Camera since it was launched almost this time last year..
If not, the Samsung Galaxy S4 Zoom..
Note 3 wouldn't be that fast looking at Samsung's trend
