So it becomes something like "blinkfeed"?  rolleyes.gif

Complaints are very common on netizens, some folks like to compare with Android and I don't see they compare the spec with Apple phones? Why is that? Simple, they love to compare the specs and hardware since Android is the trend of "better spec", since when did it become like this? Oh perhaps... "Lagdroid" if you want to put it that way?  laugh.gif

Well if you're entering the WP8 do note that you're walking into the new ecosystem, you're embracing a new breed not the same kind like "Jellybean" or even Blackberry OS, those are completely different breed too so before you jump into this completely strange ecosystem, you should do plenty of research on the ups and downs of the OS.

Jump ship? You decide! Never regret your choice. If it works for you, use it.

If you're thinking about having the same features on all the OS try imagining going on a vacation in Las Vegas and ALL the hotels look the same and has the same "service", boring huh?  rolleyes.gif

Talking about Instagram and social network, have you guys heard about Digital Detox? When was the last time you turn off your phone and sleep? Since when did your phone became your alarm? Folks, technology has bring a big leap to human society, we have been closer together but having a yumcha session today, everybody seems to be glancing down their screen in mamak, unless there's a football match.

Sorry derailed.  doh.gif

Sorry for intrusion. But gotta clap for this. thumbup.gif rclxms.gif thumbup.gif

Agree with those post above, Windows Phone 8 currently its still very fresh, after microsoft decided to kill its WP7. Peoples should do more research on this platform before jump ship, as this ecosystem is totally different.

Currently microsoft direction is getting more crowd to windows phone via increase number of hardware that compatible with Windows Phone, and place features development second priority, so currently GDR2 and GDR3 will only focus more on hardware support, had to wait till WP 8.1 than all the features will come in.

btw, today i finally spotted Nokia Street View's scouting car. It a Nissan Latio (hatchback) with Nokia sticker on the door and 8 angle camera mounted on top. blink.gif

Speaking of Android, Google still has to pay licensing fees to M$.

Windows Phone will be popular. Over time, it’ll eat the lunch of the increasingly fragmented, increasingly insecure, and increasingly costly Android (losing patent infringement lawsuits and dropping features/paying royalties to multiple IP owners will do that to you).

...

The bottom line: We’d rather see a company trying unique ideas, even if – shockingly – it’s Microsoft, than the wholesale theft of Apple innovations that we’ve been seeing for over four [six] years now. Don’t steal IP. Even worse, don’t steal IP and “claim to be innovators.” We have no problem with any companies that attempt to compete with Apple using their own unique ideas and strategies.

Hello all,

I am currently using L620 and been a WP Fans since with Mozart WP7.

I am planning to get L920 next month as my wife's Mozart (Used to be mine) drowned when it fell off unexpectedly. If I purchased, I will pass my L620 to my wife.

The issue is should I?
1/ With L1020 coming out on December, add perhaps RM700 for RRP2,199.
If L1020 is available in Malaysia now, I do not mind to get now for full RRP. But it only comes out at December. Till then, I do not have any great reason to convince myself to get such an expensive phone.
2/ I am concern with the photo and video quality, comparing to L925. I understood L925 is on latest update while L920 is only Portico. Shall L920 got the latest, would the difference in quality is near on par?
3/ I wouldn't mind the heavy of L920 as I prefer to get Wireless Charging Plate as well as the All-In-One Wireless Chargeable phone. I also like the 1-Piece Premium Plastic of L920. Of course, I prefer the elegance Matt of L1020.

Please enlighten me.
Thanks all,

How did you know 1020 RRP is RM 2199?

I predict only RM 1999, since it is USD$650 unlocked in USA, and we dont have taxes for phones. If you saw European prices, those are prices after a 19% tax. I do recommend waiting for 1020, but it wont be as late as December, most likely September.

Alright.
I still feel it is at least RM2K.

A direct conversion from Google showed USD$650 = MYR2,1xx
Of course, this amount may have included Sales Tax in USD.

May I ask - why you think most likely in September?
WPCentral and other Singaporean blog reported that Nokia 1020 arrive on Q4.

To me, earliest is September, but October is more a realistic month. I dont know, but Nokia takes too long to release their phones unlike Samsung after announcement because Elop is sucking America's c0ck, despite Nokia phones not doing well there compared to UK, France, Russia and India.

When Lumia 920 was announced last year (September i think), took us 3 months to get it - Late December. So, October for a phone announced in July might be more realistic. Q4 = the last 3 months Oct-Dec.

EDIT: ANother reason is to adjust Nokia's finances, most likely, If they mass launch this device in most countries, their Q3 might be profitable but their Q4 earnings might be in deep trouble. We will get the Lumia 625 first, maybe as early as August, so, Nokia's earnings will come from 625 for asian countries, and from 1020 for western countries for Q3.

wahlaoweh, you some kind of prophet? notworthy.gif

China will get the phone on mid-august, if you want to be early adopters you may order one from Taobao, starting from 4,000 - 5,000yuan (MYR2000). laugh.gif

I'm putting RM5 on late September 2013

What about 925? After raya?

Yeah, i think it was December and Nokia Malaysia did a roadshow on January. I happened to be around in KL at that time and visited their booth. No freebies and I remembered my constant dilemma over L920's overprice.

I really hope Nokia Malaysia could somehow launch on very early October, or perhaps loaned to me (Lol, I know I am dreaming. I am willing to pay full RRP though) so I could take along for my wedding and then honeymoon. Honestly if Nokia Malaysia only launch thereafter, a 41MP Photos/Videos is not important to me anymore. Those Instagram/FB-Quality Photos could do the daily task for me, until L1020 slim down to current L920's price. Perhaps, another 3 Quarters or even, 1 Year.

EDIT: September 2013 - Possible for Singapore. An example of L925 Case in Singapore and Malaysia.

I wouldn't mind but I deeply concern for my L1020's Warranty.
Maybe I am that unlucky to get a overlooked-QC phone.

If you put it this way while stop comparing with any competitors.

- amount of time poured into making and research on the OIS.
- same goes to 41mp
- high quality mic that's been exclusive to Nokia (hTC One also shares the same tech)
- best communication technologies from Nokia (We're talking since 3310 notworthy.gif )
- Global navigation license for the package (Almost the whole world, offline too)
- EXCLUSIVE apps suite thumbup.gif
- Unique design since N9.
- 10,000 patern portfolio from Nokia. (Apple and Blackberry is paying, maybe hTC soon)
10,000 Strong: Nokia’s Patent Portfolio Is One Key Advantage You Forgot About

Competitors merely bump up the specs and revamped the UI and offer you at flagship price.

Just my POV yeah. sweat.gif

LOL, no, it's very easy to guess the price, once you know the US or officially announced off contract price. I also predicted the 520, 620 and 720's RRP price accurately earlier this year.

Mark my words, Lumia 625 will go for RM 999 max. Lumia 720 RRP price already drop by RM 100.

I got a 820 and a 920 on launch day, 23rd Dec last year, Gurney Nokia store in Penang. 820 is a favor someone asked me to help get one because he is in urgent need of a new phone after his broke, and he will only buy Nokia. I love to be an early adopter, didnt care about the price - at least it is not as insane as iPhone and Blackberry.

P.S. I already made a total of 23 friends switch to windows phone, mostly budget users getting 520, 620 or 720. I think i deserve a job at Nokia. tongue.gif

I really am looking forward to get 1 as well. ASAP.
But Lumia 1020 has to be here before my Wedding.

You are correct. Lumia 920 at that time, is not that overpriced for early adopters, comparing to iPhone, Note.

I'm happy that you are spreading your experience with others at your side.
Same here too. I always try my best to open an another POV on Windows Phone, which many do not know and does not bother to be part of their decision making process.

They are budget phone users who do basic stuff like webpage browsing, phone/message, and listen music, and dont game much on a phone. Why suffer from lags of low end android models when there are good alternatives? Windows Phone should suffice. Even if you walk in a shop and ask for recommendation given your budget, the sales people will never recommend a Nokia, although for budget models WP is the way to go.
