Brickfields in KL seems to be the best place for Indian food - Banana Leaf Rice. Would you agree?

If by best you mean authentic then no not really, that area is commercialized more to server tourists & non-Indians.

What a bloody mess that picture is. Completely unappetizing despite banana leaf meals being fabulous.

You will recognise that you're in the right restaurant when you see that every table has a water jug (free) and 2 other unopened bottles of mineral water one large the other small (both chargeable)

Dont need to look at the menu - just ask for Vege BLR and the whole jimbalang-set arrives on a big nice clean real banana leaf - not plastic, not synthetic. Real leaf. (and they destroy the leaf after youve eaten so it wont be reused)

The bangsar 1 is most likely Nirvana right opposite Bangsar Village 2..

The Jalan Gasing that people mention is most likely Kanna Curry house right beside the Ipoh Chicken rice or close to Catholic high school

Another one I have written about

Annalakshmi

This Indian vegetarian restaurant has always been an advocate of pay what you feel it’s worth. Here they serve a buffet spread of 10-16 food items including a section for dessert. The best part about Indian vegetarian food is that you don’t need the meat to have an extremely delicious meal. The spices like turmeric, red chili powder, cumin, and coriander mixed with the different types of veggies are suffice with hot steaming rice. Some of the popular dishes of this restaurant are matar panner, gobi mutter, masoor dal, jeera pilav, bindi masala, gobi masala, raita, chapati, and palak paneer. They also make their own papadoms, so crispy and tasty that we can’t get enough of them. While the policy is pay what you think it’s worth, we guarantee that you’ll always want to pay more than it’s worth after tasting the yummy bites.

Temple of Fine Arts, 114-116 Jalan Berhala, Brickfields, 50470, KL. Tel: +603-2272-3799

Open Tuesday – Sunday for lunch at 11:30am – 3pm and dinner at 6:60 pm – 10.00 pm

sri paandi in pandan indah is nice. but the best is in meena curry house in kota bharu. sri paandi not sure of the halal status, i asked them they say it's halal and they showed me the halal cert copy for their suppliers so shouldn't be a problem.

The meat source must be slaughtered the halal way by a muslim.

No pork doesnt mean always halal.

Some restaurant slaughtered the chicken at their own shop.

there nothing such thing as slaughter chicken at their own shop la.. they rather buy from pasar in a bluk... its still halal since they buy from market as they have a person there do the slaughtering. .. which shop slaughter their own chicken? curious.. From my knowledge, there no indian banana leaf or other indian cuisine related shops do own chicken slaughtering.. its time consuming and not feasible for their business time frame..
