sup folks wave.gif
So i already got my radiator installed.
Now i need opinion on pump placement and reservoir.

Im interested to to use cylinder type of reservoir. But considering i'll be placing my dvdrom on top bay, I only have like 12cm long cylinder res i can use to make the cylinder holder balanced and can mount at the 5.25 drv bay screw holes.
between EK 150 and Koolance 150 tube, which one a better option? or bay res a better option? currently i dont plan to use bayres as i want my front case to have 3 fan intake look.

And any idea where is the best place to mount a D5 pump? drill holes on the mobo tray and mount it?. I prefer not to place it on the floor to keep my loop short. My rad in/outlet is on top.

What do you mean by 'skinniest'? Looking for the smallest OD?
*
Yep, looking for the smallest OD that is not koolance fittings(expensive sweat.gif )
Some users feedback that if use BitsPower 1/2-3/4 on the 380i, theres inly like 1mm gap between 2 fittings as the I/O of the block is somewhat near =__=
BP is like 26mm diameter while enzo is like 25mm.

Oh well, will drop Cyntrix a pm then

Bro, what size tubing are you using? 1/2 ID 5/8 OD?
*
I havent bought any tubes yet, but i plan to get the PRimochill from APES amd since the D5 pump has default ID 1/2 barb, i'll stick to 1/2 ID.
As for OD, i think 3/4 is the common used ones.
Lets see which size APES has for the tubes, and i'll get the comp fittings accordingly
. . . .
I still havent decide what res to use doh.gif I hope APES has the Bitspower Tank Z-80

If APES doesn't have the Z-80, I have a full acrylic one I'm looking to sell. wink.gif
*
apparently APES do not have z-80. they have z-150 but thats too long.
im also considering Swiftech MCres and xspc D5 tank, but i i like cylinder look more

you have z-80? relevant to my interest.
hows the turbulence(cyclone) inside it? i think D5-at speed2 should be no problem.

*also am asking niclas if he got good offerings for black koolance fittings

Hi folks wave.gif
Im somehow not happy with my loop performance.
Currently I have a dud 3570k running on my z77 ext4 that requires 1.35v just for 4.5G run. *okay.. lets put this aside for now

now im running my 3570k at 4G 1.12v. my Coretemp is showing 70C on load, and my liquid temp after the pump is 36.5C

setup:
koolance 380i
D5 pump at speed 1.5 notch
SRI-240 with Arctic F12 pwm push-pull
1/2-3/4 tubes.

im satisfied by the noise(super quiet, but not the temp performance =___=
room is generic malaysia room w/ 1 standing fan

am i doing it wrong?

Max load 70 degrees is quote ok bro... Whats the temp youre expecting?
*
but.. but.. thats like 3570k @4G w/ 1.12v..
im seeing people going 4.5G at higher vcore and theyre getting like 70C as well >_<
so this is to be expected for low FPI rad system? oh well, if its a tradeoff for noise and dust, i guess i need to convince myself to deal w/ it >_<

@vahn: my setup goes like this : waterblock -> rad -> res > pump -> waterblock
just that my koolance drainplug/splitter block is after the pump, so i put my probe there as well

My setup is the other way around, pump>radiator>waterblock>pump and so. Ok or not recommended?  sweat.gif

as long your pump dont get too hot you should be fine. The concern goes down to the res material you are using.
Ppl usually put rad before res so that the water is cooled off before entering the res. Acrylic res tends to disintegrate w/ high temp lequids (like 60/70C)

Errr.... The problem is my pump is submerse together with the reservoir. So I m too sure which comes 1st hehe. The reservoir is all black plastic and it only have a transparent window (maybe acrylic) for the water level indicator. Any suggestion? sweat.gif

I get what you mean. you are using the xspc bayres.
pump wise, it should get decent amount of liquid gong thru it so your loop should be OK.
If i were to advise, i'd say try to get the rad before the res/pump.
Well, as long your current load temp is not high, maybe its fine
In future, maybe you can consider investing for something like this probe to know your liquid temp

if yo flick ur fingers on the tube, the bubble moves right?
Could it be from the pump sucking in some bubbles inside the reservoir?
I'm not sure on this tho as i never use bayres.

However from experience using my short cylinder res, i'll get some bubbles from the water swirling inside the res when my pump is set at high speed. Folks calls this phenomena as cyclone effect

Lol why dont you just use distilled water and some silver coil?

If want color color i recommend use mayhems... Goodstuff!!
*
he got problem w/ bubbles on his anti-kink tubes.
I cant comment much as im using white tube overall w/ exception of 1 tube connecting res to pump, but i dont see bubbles in mine.

and no, my clear primochill LRT still doesnt change to cloudy color yet, as i've ben priming my system to 80C for the past few days
