I'm currently doing a Dip in Business overseas. As most people wouldn't do, when they are overseas, usually they strive for the degree or honours.

Currently, I'm attached, and she's finishing next year whilst I'm at my first year of the Diploma, she's doing a degree btw. I know it's kinda selfish, but I was thinking of finishing the same time as her.

Was just wondering if I'll get anywhere with this Diploma in Malaysia, I know there's definitely tough competetion. But I was just wondering if there's a 'surviving' chance if I didn't continue studying and go onto my degree.

I've been overseas for 4 years now and definitely sick of every moment I spend here, no, I'm not THAT old. Just been here since high school days until Uni which I'm currently in. =)

Comments please.

Yes, competition is already tough here among graduates with degree, so i reckon it's going to be harder for you. I've recently graduated and went through the tedious job seeking process. Most job openings for fresh graduates require a basic degree. There are only a few of them that i've come across that hire diploma holders. So maybe you should take that into consideration. Yes, with a strong will and determination, nothing is impossible. You can work your way up from the bottom and gain experience. But it's true that a diploma qualification can get you only this far. Sad to say, employers do look for paper qualification. Hope that helps. If you really want to start work the same time as your gf, you can probably think about distant learning where you'll study from home without having to attend classes? Some universities offer that, but that's if you're willing to put in the hard work - study + work. All the best!
