Bro, can you confirm me this train route from Nagoya to Toyota Plant. I goggle the train route & found this:

From Nagoya station take train Toyokawa Line to Chiryu Station. Interchange at Chiryu Station to Mikawa Toyota Line to Mikawa Yatsuhashi. Possible to do this route?

Remember,  From Nagoya to Kozoji Station (Chuo Main Line) or Okazaki Station (Tokaido Main Line) are JR Line.  Your Jr rail pass will cover.

From Kozoji Station / Okazaki Station to Mikawa-Toyota Station by Aishi Loop Line will be Private Line company. Not cover by JR Rail Pass.

I chk with Toyota & they gave me the same easiest way as you gave me. So I stick to the original route tongue.gif

Tks again.

QUOTE(RegentCid @ Sep 21 2013, 02:04 PM)
those are not JR line...your JR rail pass will be invalied.

BTW , Mikawa-Toyota Station are on front on Main entrance of Toyota Plant.  So Aishi Loop Line are most wise choice

I am travelling to Japan for 2 weeks with my husband starting on 18/10/13. I am muslim too but why I am not worried about halal food because if you can't find halal restaurant, you can either choose vegetarian food or seafood. Simple solution. On another note, you can bring canned food from Malaysia.

QUOTE(Gh-x @ Oct 6 2013, 01:00 PM)
hi guys, on this 16 i will be travelling to tokyo,Japan for a week but since this is the first time i travel to a non-muslim country i am really unsecured about halal food.

I am travelling on a limited budget so what are my food option in Tokyo? eat maggie only? as there are Halal restaurant in Tokyo but it's expensive as hell.

Furthermore what type of food can i get from the convenience store which is Halal? Is Onigiri halal?

Hope someone could give me some guidance here.

Thanks in advance.

Ya lor!! Very easy. Why worry too much & spoil our holiday mood over small matter, kan bro tongue.gif

QUOTE(mat sputnik @ Oct 7 2013, 11:53 AM)
True -- for 1000yen can get glorious fresh seafood and rice. biggrin.gif

Anyway, last Dec we were walking around Tokyo and spotted 2 halal eateries (Indian and kebab):
- Siddique Halal Indian Pakistani at N35.702045 E139.771912
- Nasco Kebab at N35.702072 E139.699738

Keep a keen eye when walking -- you are bound to spot them and others.

Or you can always rely on: http://www.zabihah.com/sp.php?k=type+%28optional%29&l=tokyo

Brader, I need a confirmation from you abt charger in Japan. Some friends tells me different story so I am not sure which one I should follow.

We need transformer to charge our handphone, laptop, camera while in Japan, right? Their voltage is 100-110v, but ours is 220v-240v. I don't think we can just plug in to charge without transformer. Pls enlighten me.

Early of November will be around 18 to 15 celcius.

Most chargers nowadays can accept 110-240V. Just check the specs on the adapter/plug.

They are using 2 pin plug. That's mean I need to use universal adapter.

QUOTE(RegentCid @ Oct 8 2013, 11:41 AM)
Malaysia Charged woks find in Japan..only need change the socket head.

Malaysia Adapter can withstand 240V while Japan just 110V.  This call totally under stress.
But Japan Adapther is 110V ..if used in Malaysia 230V.  It will Burn in 1 Sec.

QUOTE(mat sputnik @ Oct 8 2013, 11:51 AM)
No need.

See for e.g. this Samsung Note 2 charger. Note the INPUT: 100-240V

Now I get it. They bought a rice cooker from Japan & using transformer in Malaysia. No wonder they need to use the transformer. Haiyah!!! doh.gif

QUOTE(RegentCid @ Oct 8 2013, 11:48 AM)
bull shit.

If you buy Japan electonic stuff back to Malaysia then u need transfomers to step down the vol from 230V to 110V.  Because the Adapther only can withstand 110V

malaysia stuff totaly save at there

I bought 2 pin small plug while I was in Korea. Small & light. But can't use it in Japan because the pin is round.

QUOTE(mat sputnik @ Oct 8 2013, 12:01 PM)
Yes, 2-pin American plug. I like this plug, so small, unlike the bulky UK one we use in MY!

If you search more, you can actually buy it in Malaysia. Many agent in Malaysia selling the pass. JTB Malaysia, Apple Vacation & several more agent in Wisma Cosway & UBN Tower behind Shangrila. I forgot the name of the agent. I bought it from JTB here in KL.

QUOTE(alienfighter @ Oct 8 2013, 07:00 PM)
hi guys,

i'm plan to buy the 7days pass for JR line (shinkansen) but getting confused which website should i buy the ticket,
based on the first page, the Japan Rail Pass is qoute for $279 and my friend bought her ticket at JR Pass with slightly higher than Japan Rail Pass....

my question are,
1. is both of the website is the agent for JR pass OR
2. they are 2 diffferent things?
3. will it be any kind of scam for this? (since the ticket fees for 2 are almost 2k wooo)...

another question for those who bought ticket using either 1 of the website, how long its actually takes to arrive Malaysia? since we are going to Japan on 1st November...
(afraid the pass arrive late... )
