I take it this is not your finalized itineraries especially 4th, 5th and 6th coz it looks dull and there are more to tokyo than just ginza and akiba, but to each his own.

If you are not extravagant, you can get by easily with 5,000 Yen in food, 1,000 Yen in transportation, plus whatever expenses you wish to spend. I brought only 2.500MYR for 3 weeks and spent about 5,000 Yen a day for food/transport and still have alot. (I couchsurfed for couple of days and go touring with the locals.)

Spent whole morning reading about NEX + SUICA rclxub.gif

How far can I go with preloaded 1500yen in SUICA?

Reach at 2105 after 14hrs flight. Unless I dun sleep, else might not have time to go Tokyo.

Maybe just narita city.

Narita City nth to see...it just like Sepang only...full of forest. 1500 Yen Suica quite enough for using inside Tokyo metro.

If you like fashion then can take the NEX to Shinjuku. Shop at Shinjuku for the rest of hour.....then take NEX back to Narita. NO Suica require. If you want to used Suica then can take Metro [[Yamanote line]] to Harajuku continue shopping after done at Shinjuku.

Ok I understand now. Just buy NEX to either one station then go back to narita.

70 minutes journey one way. That is 2.5hrs just for return journey. Right?

Need to wake up early to go shopping lol (shops open on 1st Jan morning?)

Just to thank you guys at the forum for all the discussions and information given. From middle June, we have been going around trying to get info to plan our itinerary as we are going on our own.

Our group of 6 from Melaka, will be going soon during Raya, and hope we will have a good time. Only thing is we did not know at this time it is Obon festival, and thus Onsen at Hakone is very expensive to stay.

We hope to pay hotel bills by Credit card and allocate around 60,000 Yen for food and transportation as we have already bought JR Pass and will try to use JR line as much as possible. To make the pass worth it, will go to Hiroshima, from Osaka.

We would appreciate it if those well versed with Japan can at least try to help with whatever info that they know. Most of us are first timers going to Japan and there is a limit to what we can find from the Web. It is better getting some direct advice and help from those who have experienced it before. For example, during weekends, better to tour City, and go to Hakone, etc during weekdays to avoid the crowd.

Booking thru Air Asia, we feel it is better to go in thru Osaka and exit thru Tokyo as we can avoid problem of most trains stopping service after midnight since AAX flights to Haneda will arrive around 11pm and earliest can arrive at Hotel in Shinjuku is around 1am, using Hiperdia guide.

Thanks, all your info has in one way or other helped us to get a clearer picture of what we will be going through. After this trip, will be glad to offer helpful info to those going on their own to places we have been.
