My rotor is probably warped, you guys may have noticed the loud braking noise from my new ceramic brake pad which should have been quiet.

Skimming costs RM80. I'm thinking to change the front pair of rotors. Any recommendation?
*
After u change brake pad,the sound appears after few days drive rite?
Wad is the optimum braking temp for d new brake pads? If u think changing rotors help and more worth than skimming then go ahead...but if after change rotors and after few days drive sound appears again..means brake pad material quality not tat good...not sure whether high braking temp brake pads is one of d causes of the noise or not... Need to ask davidke20 for further details..

If rotor uneven/warped, that's what skimming is for right?

I drive on MEX/SMART/Kesas everyday to work, once I get to cruising, it's easily 130km/h and above, then I'll have to brake to exit. Perhaps these high speed braking use up a lot of brake pad.

ckdenion, I heard you skimmed your rotor for RM60? Where is that?
*
Yea rotor uneven/warped need to b skimmed.mine is due to lousy new brake pads that cause my rotor uneven!

Lol...even like tat also wont so habis cepat gua unless u go track race la...cz for mine...i changed at 45k...but advisable to change at 30k...i let my mechanic skim lo...near my house...i forgot is rm70 per rotor or rm70 for 1 side...need to check back my receipt...

Minthye too much asbestors, compound too hard alas the screeching sound despite not hitting the brake pedal. It is very normal geh. Again like I said, it's cheap and powderful pads they produce, and using it consecutively, your rotor will be gone sooner.
*
like wad u advised me previously...even if i skimmed my rotors, the screeching sound will still come back...mintye tak ngam my daily usage lo...thats y tukar already brake pad...

oh wait...i think i still have the mintye brake pads in my storeroom...

Not sure about Persona ones, but my Waja i changed to stock TRW discs from spare part shop RM150-160 if i remember correctly. Honestly saying, if new discs costs only RM80 more than skimming, I'd rather get new discs instead. And surprisingly as well, once the new discs beds in, the braking power is also higher when compared to the old disc.
*
TRW rotor? hmm...then i might change the disc as well during my nex brake pad change... brows.gif
