Got the car weather sheets done for the rear two doors. Pretty cheap at first (RM30) for both doors until the price for the broken clips came (RM5 per piece, and there were 6 pieces). As for the brake fluid changing they only changed the fluid without bleeding the system, and that costed RM10. Still have leftover so I'll probably head to another workshop to see if they offer brake bleeding services.

hi, sifus..

if car masuk water, what to do? yesterday morning when i want to go out buy breakfast, i found out my car right rear door got water leaked in and my carpet wet (my car always parking outside the house). And today morning about 9.30am, i park my car in opposite direction and after a while the rain started. Just now i go out to lock my car steering and found out my car left rear door got water leak in and i check all the 4 door rubber, 3 of them are wet..

That issue is normally due to gaps between the weather-sheet and the car's door, allowing water to enter the car through the bottom of the door trim. Get yourself some bitumen strips and re-stick the weather sheet(s) or get it done at some accessory shop.

Have you tried shifting your transmission from P to other positions and back? Had the same issue before but on a Kembara. It seemed totally dead and doing that brought it back to life.

ic.. how much does it cost if done it at accessory shop? how about if i sent to proton service centre? will they charge me?
*

[/quote]

Well.. I got charged RM30 for both rear doors for mine, so you're probably looking at around RM30 ~ RM50 for all four doors I believe. I'd say just get yourself bitumen strips which comes in the roll form (I'm not sure from where) which would probably be cheaper than sending it to an accessory shop, and you'll also be able to reseal as needed.

If your car is still under warranty, I think the Proton service center shouldn't charge. Otherwise they probably will.

Damn. Been reading again all about the camber bolt / nut thing and I feel quite unhappy now to have accepted it previously. Best part is I conveniently didn't take the original bolts back too. doh.gif Strangely amidst the numerous info on how the bolts are largely unneeded my abah seems to believe that they are much needed. I worry about the time when his car will need to have the tyres changed. sad.gif

laugh.gif. DIY seriously. Easy and cheap. And remember to only use bitumen strips. doh.gif Probably gonna have to find some time off to buy awning caulk remover if I want to get the doors clean again... sad.gif Note to self to never listen to anymore rather crude suggestions.

Told the guy to replace them, didn't get them myself. Probably one of the reasons why they were RM5 each when they're so simple in design.

Anyway, I asked about brake bleeding at another workshop that I have been to a few times before and one of the guy there quoted RM20 ~ RM30 for the job, and recommended about 2L of brake fluid. Looks like if I agree to do it I'll be wasting the brake fluid that has already been poured into the brake fluid container, though it's only about 350ML or so I believe.

Oh... and.. If the doors have two thin and rectangular shaped soundproofing included by default, be sure to ask for them. Mine left rear door ketuk and respray before and soundproof material don't know go where. The rest of the doors still have two each.

Nope.. i made a decision to drive to sc to fix it and the stupid sa said "today full, please come back 2moro".. i reply him "if back 2moro, my car can breed a fish" and he just diam diam only.. then i drive back to office and park under the roof and call my friend to help me get the bitumen strips from hardware shop and fix it after working hour.. now the water no longer enter in.. just seal all the hole on the door panel.. except the hole for clip..
now i looking for the black color glue that stick on the weather-sheet.. i don't know where can get it..
*
I thought it's supposed to be bitumen strips only? What black color glue are you talking about? hmm.gif

Hi there brothers. Need to ask two questions to all the sifus here. Can you change the foglamp without removing the bumper? Coz I broke mine because of stones and I've ordered a replacement already. I think I can replace it myself if I don't have to remove the bumper coz I dunno how. If not then need to visit the pomen..

Another thing, are the rear reflectors screwed on or just using double sided tape? Can we replace it without taking the bumper off?

Replies are much appreciated!!
*
If I remember correctly it's screwed on, though it should be pretty accessible since the area behind the rear bumper is pretty empty. For the front foglamp you probably can access the foglamp area but only after jacking the car up.

Anyone facing some pedal clunking sound over sudden bumps? It happens mostly if the road is smooth and some random bump appears causing the car to jump. If I slide my foot off the brake pedal I seem to be able to replicate the exact same sound, which may mean that the brake pedal is loose. But is that possible? Or maybe it's some other bearing / bushing / joints in the front section of the car that needs replacing.

20,000-25,000km any special inspection or parts require change other than filter & engine oil?

do normal tayar shop do oil change service? i got my own oil but not the Air Filter.

Filter how much & labor cost how much usually?
*
Changing oil + oil filter + air filter is normally a RM10 ~ RM20 job, and yes, tyre shops do offer oil changing services. So far the two shops I have serviced at are both tyre shops laugh.gif. Around 20K Km if you're driving an auto you should have already replaced the ATF, if not do it. The brake fluid and power steering fluid should also be changed by 20K KM I believe.

Uh... One thing to note about the power steering fluid is that SP3 isn't that similar to Dexron fluids. Dexron III should not be that expensive anyway, and one litre should be enough for flushing and topping up based on my experience. I used Toyota ATF-IV though for the power steering since it's apparently similar to Dexron III + more additives.

Ah, and yeah I forgot about coolant. Recommended to change every 20,000KM or 2 years unless you buy long life coolant.
