DTWW is a huge investment, not super huge but if you're looking at long term then it will cost, for non EF users, you a need 4 gears with 9AS to hit 2.5bp and with 0.25 aps EF, 9,9,8,8 will set you up for 2.5BP and to top that off, high stats + 9%AS will make the items almost at premium. So if you're really looking into hitting that BP, don't make purchases that gives you a small boost, try to get a significant upgrade if you have gold to spare. 2nd, people always buy EF then wonder why they're not hitting BP or getting 10 ticks buffed. There's a big difference between 0.23,0.24,0.25APS EF's. Each speed will determine how much AS you will need in your gear to hit certain BP's so make sure you understand how it works before purchasing.

Would like to clarify a bit on SoJ part with elemental damage % added :

KaydenFox: Why was elemental damage cut? Burning fire, heal stopping poison, stunning lightning, healing holy… they all would have been great additions to game play.

Jay Wilson: Primarily due players preference of DPS over everything. As we played the game we found everyone just moved to the damage type that did the most damage. If we equalized damage they ignored ones that didn't have CC options. Case in point, we kept the slow on cold and gave it a lower damage budget and its the least used damage type now.

The effect of elemental damage was taken out and only cold effect remained. Meaning +% elemental damage on SoJ calculates as +% elemental damage as added damage to physical black weapon and does not proc any effect. Another from Jay W in regards to poison damage in d3

"poison damage does not work like D2. It does not apply a persistent effect, it’s a type of damage like fire or holy. Poison does not "poison" targets with a DoT effect. It's just another type of direct damage in Diablo 3 –JayWilson"

Meaning it does not proc as how poison damage did in D2, it's just basically an added damage % just like fire or holy. It is only incorporated in skills and not gears with elemental damage.

Travis: Applying innate benefits to each weapon type gets brought up a lot. While we don't currently have plans to make each weapon do something different, it isn't off the table. At the heart of that question, though, is the desire for weapons to be more than just a DPS number and that is something we would like to add, but that will most likely come in the form of elemental damage.

Elemental damage is something we are actively trying to find a good solution for. The stat already exists in the game, but currently it's just six different flavors of the same affix—Cold is the only exception in that it snares targets. One thing we are actively discussing is what kind of effects we could associate with each element and then add it not only to weapons but all damage sources of that type. We haven't finalized anything just yet, but we really want to make this happen.


FYI : Elemental Damage effect was actually incorporated during Beta but was taken out and only cold snare remained

Problem is outsniping pro snipers . This guys don't snipe alone. What I know so far is they snipe in groups. 4-5ppl normally and they go round the clock so they cover it 24/7 and split the profit evenly no matter who bids for it. Very pro. Sniping bots? That one i'm not sure but just lots of rumors about it.

I LOL'D WHEN I SAW THIS. Someone was smart enough to slot in a ruby and someone was stupid enough to max bid it at 1d12h not noticing that the ruby made the dps shown!!! HAHAHAHA... i think this is the new smart selling. Socket a RUBY and make the DPS look good then bang some idiot sniper go and place max bid fast fast ... Actual dps 959 hehe.

Also on mempos Btw, weird that someone sells duped on AH and yeah it's worth a bomb. who the hell..

Nice IK irons/ WH and Lacuni's

I suggest to not use EF on MH simply because you don't have cold SoJ. using it on OH downs fear by half. Btw, if you're going to run hota, I suggest you stack CD/CC. As long as your EF has 0.25aps, you only need 2 gears with 8AS and 2 gears with 9AS to hit double tornado for WW

Simple breakdown for HOTA/WW

HOTA : Stack CD / CC at least 60% buffed CC and 450 above CD
WW : 0.25aps EF/ 2 gears with 8AS, 2 gears with 9AS to hit 2.5BP for DTWW
