There is no need to argue. Just wait when XBox One console imports comes into Malaysia.

Just ask the seller to demo one online game on the XBox One, just one. If it plays, fans will cheer. If it does not, that means no sales for them. If it is modded, pirates will cheer.

Title should change to The Resurrection of XBone already.

Most of the controversial DRM policies has been reversed.

actually i dont mind the drm thing - who want to lend their precious hard-bought-wif-own-money game to stranger & i dont really like / bought 2nd hand game. if the developer can get more money through the policies i think it can help them make better games. the cloud sharing is good & innovative too.

the only down side is the 1h / 24h internet check-in thing tats shit. & the kinect technology is not-so-great yet as kinect cant catch up wif the players faster movement so the bundle wif kinect is bad.

i think its very bad for microsoft to turn a 360'' & follow up wif the ps3 / the more normal policies. they should just tune the system just abit like take away the 24h check-in thing & region lock free. the drm i think its fine & continue on wif the family sharing thing.

Would you change your mind if I told you that the same DRM is used to prevent the Xbox from being used outside of the countries that MS says we can use it?

For example, would you like it if you go through the hassle of importing it, arguing with ketam that it's a PC and not a toy and thus shouldn't have import duty and tax, and then find that when you start it up and connect it to the internet it just gives an error about how the console is not in one of the 21 countries that Microsoft is launching the Xbox One in and refuse to let you proceed after it checks your IP address? No? Me neither. In fact, it's only this stupid region locking DRM that is my problem with Xb1 because, you know, Malaysia isn't in the list of the 21 countries. And given how we were treated like nobodies when the 360 was released (and even now we're treated as second class Xbox citizens - Malaysia XBL has no gold account and thus no online play) and how Singapore isn't in the Xb1 list either, I hold no hope of ever seeing Malaysia in the list.

Sony was smart to maintain that the PS4 will not have mandatory region locking of any kind and will not have similar DRM during the PS4 announcement. Sure, developers are free to implement it on their own as they please, but lets see how well their game sells when people have backlash and boycott your game just like with Persona 4 Arena.

That said, I'm satisfied that MS has removed all the incredibly stupid DRM, especially the country detection lock. I may consider it if an exclusive that I'm interested in comes out on it (usually Square Dream Team titles like Lost Odyssey and Blue Dragon). Sure, the developer of the game may implement it on their own as they please like with PS4, but again, people's power will show them.

Can't tell its dead or not. Gamers have short memory.
Once those great games come in, everyone will forget what happened.

Well, it's a good thing MS reversed their DRM policy. Or else there will be exactly zero chance of the games coming in at all.
