brothers, need some advise. i just changed both hard disk by myself for my G53sx. i putting in 1TB 7200rpm SATA 6GB/s 32MB x2. my previous hard disk was 500GB 5400rpm SATA 3GB x2. after i finished both new hard disk installation, i cannot boot to the boot menu. it shows "reboot to drive ........" is that i need to directly install the ASUS setup cd to the laptop? 

please advise me....

nope. depends on where u put ur G-series. in aircond room less dust (i remember tonberry laptop.. super clean coz always in aircond room) unlike mine i just recently open again (after 3 months) already can see dust accumulate. The only setback here is dust~ and AWESOME COOLNESS if u set it nicely

edit: there is actually suction fan for behind. i got one for my previous laptop. and as for the u3 yep quite a number of 15" and 17" are using that actually.

Awesome . just wondering why do u need soo much airflow when ure in aircondition room. Get a good thermal paste will do the job well done already. what's ur average temp (cpu/gpu) atm

Hey guys, I have my G53SX with me for almost 2 years already.. But recently 4-5 months back I got curious .........make sure everything was connected, but there wasn't any difference. Without my ext monitor plugged in, I looked to my screen at a certain angle, and noticed that there were some images. I could see my bootscreen and my cursor in the laptop screen when i put a bright light on it, just that it was very very dim. Safe to say the conclusion was that the backlit cable of the screen got loose or maybe spoiled, but the screen is still fine as its visible. So maybe only need replacement of the cable..

My question here is, where can I get it fixed? I don't think warranty covers this as I've probably disassembled too far inside.    Thanks guys 

Well illegear are meant for users to customize. Heard it was easy to clean it compared to any asus gaming series (excluding G75) or maybe another series i might not be aware of~ but of all the latest version, it's getting trickier and trickier~ lol!

but yeah Rs-17 is damn expensive~ lol. Depends on what you might need, the RS-15 could be sufficient and is affordable~ well yeah compared to AW

the plastidip paint is like the rubberized coating on g55.

i sprayed it on my orochi mouse (because the top cover can be taken off easily to replace battery). it feels nice but the color is a bit off. i did it at night time, and i didn't shake the can too well too (lazy). so it's best to do it during day time under sunlight; do 3 to 4 layers.

there is a lot of plastidip black spray at ace hardware midvalley. it's at the right of the shop (paint section). it also sells the dip version (the one you can just dip whatever you want into it and have whatever coated)

i peeled the coating off and sprayed the mouse again just now. this time cantik

well to substitute the green green grass~ i bought alot of green stuff.. coz i read green helps the eye~ somemore always the type to sit infront of computer for hours~ haha.. so green helps~ so like green! haha

edit: did this under sunlight. 3 layers. wait for 10 minutes for each layer (to dry; and it's hot just now).

kahtsin, just go and grab one; no need to wait for us don't worry if you spray it wrongly. you can just peel it off and redo.

The grip is good; feels like rubberized surface of g55.

My palms seldom get sweaty.

Btw, what do you think of the better mice that are good for sweaty palms?

oh.. i.e. most of the gaming mice these days. yeah it's important about how they suit your style :

to me the grip after applying plastidip is good. (perhaps better because it's more rubberized than before)
