try create the recovery usb using the backtracker from g75vx and use that to restore the factory-state OS into ssd. alternatively, you can clone it using macrium reflect. lastly, do a clean install with matching w8.

Ok thanks. If we are to install the SSD ourselves, will this void the warranty?

no. you can access and replace everything which is in the user serviceable area (the area that is exposed to you when you take the back cover of your laptop off; basically this means the 2 accessible ram slots, and your hdd) without voiding warranty.

however, bear in mind that when you send it in for warranty, it is best to put the stock components back, and remove all the parts that you have replaced with the stock ones.

you want first-hand or second-hand? the best way to know all these is to do some leg work yourself and start check out the garage sales at lyn first.

the latest rog g-series in the market is g46 and g750, about 4k and 5k+ respectively.

My mode is not power saving mode and normaly i will use high performance mode. And from the Power Options on the control panel, i used to be tick Do nothing in all the column etc like When I press the power button , When I close the lid. So i think it won't be shutdown automatically. For the return to the password typing the screen is just happened 30 minute ago. I have been 1st time meet this problem. For the automatically shut down that is normally 3 times per weeks having this problem.
Note: i normally will never turn off the laptop and let it charge all my phone to the next morning and it still turning on from the day purchase on last year Dec . Last 2 months ago, the computer start had the problem with the next morning when i wake up the computer off automatically. And after I turn on the computer there is nothing like system error message or any critical message from windows. That why i am confusing on this.

And what should i do for this problem?

you using win 8... have you try window Refresh? >win+c >setting >change pc setting >general (in option go to refresh win) see if that have any effect...

note: to see critical error log > computer management > system tool > event viewer > summary of admin event > look critical or error msg...

u only check gpu temp. maybe check cpu temp, usually after reaching threshold limit it will automatically shut down in order to prevent from laptop burning. hwinfo64 is the best software out there smile.gif

how do we clean out the fan on the G55? man..if only they design it much better on the bottom half which has better accessible way to clean out the dust on the cooling fan i'd be grateful with Asus..either way quite disappointing.

cleaning up fans in g55 involves a teardown of the laptop (i.e. take out the battery, back cover, hard disk, keyboard, display panel, then flip the motherboard over to access the fans).

yeah it should have been designed to be more maintenance friendly.

true, along the way if u're not careful enough will dmg some components .. sending it to asus service center cost = petrol money + parking fee + toll + ur makan + ur minum + accidentally see something and bought it unnecessarily ..

its interesting if we could access the fans for cleanups overall this is a gaming laptop.. haha but we've discussed about this over and over again

had a sweet deal? smile.gif

for the wifi card, you can swap it with a better one (a bit pricey) or just get a usb wifi adapter.
