I am mostly on travelling this day so need a laptop for HD (or 4k in the future) photo&video-editing and heavy gaming purpose
(Doom, I am waiting for you)

Right now, on my right hand side I have ASUS ROG G750JZ and ASUS ROG G750JM

while on my left hand side we have GT70 DOMINATOR DRAGON EDITION, GT70 DOMINATOR PRO DRAGON EDITION, GT60 2PE DOMINATOR 3K EDITION and GT70 2PE DOMINATOR PRO

Throw in some questions:
1) To SSD or not?
2) Is Bluray-drive an overkill?
3) Should I bump the RAM to 32GB?

How about ASUS ROG G750JH?
Is it still available on the market now?
If so, what is the current selling price?

The reason is I did some search on Comparison between Nvidia Geforce 780M and Geforce GTX880M and 780M is still currently the most powerful mobile GPU.

Dang...
Budget wise, I might go for Asus G750JZ for its prive and value ratio.
Snapped this while browsing the latest Asus catalog today


Few things to consider:
1) 32 RAM is a must for me cause I do panorama photos and stiching those high pixels photos could stress up the machine. Plus, more RAM equals speedy  gaming loading time (most cases)
2) Might get a 128GB SSD for, again, photo-editing purposes. Plus it does speed up the whole process given its value.

I still think internal Blu-Ray RW drive is a bit overkill. External hard disk is dirt cheap this day...

How about Kingston Hyper X? any suggestion?

Both, i've one SSD Kingston hyper x. I've diagnosed it and it never reach 555mbs R/W.  only around 450Mbs~

And those higher end 1866 ram stick are recommend to be pair with those higher end processor like i7-4900. It will not impact much on i7-4700.

i own an asus g750 jz
i have a problem with it though :/
when i use chrome sometimes it hangs alot only the browser chrome nothing else to be effected
i would be scrolling down say facebook or battlelog origin and it would suddenly get stuck for about 5-8 seconds and then be ok it happens alot and is annoying :/
anyone experiencing this ?
i exchanged my laptop the first time but seems to be a problem with w8 i guess?

Around RM3999 to RM4199, Please make sure you receive bundle ASUS ROG Headset and Mouse when you purchase! I noticed many fxxker seller steal the accessories when selling the notebook.

I fked one pc computer shop (name hidden to protect particular business reputation) , when my friend purchased an G750JH, they refused and denied the bundle gift until I fked them up only they go and check this and check that and finally hand the bundle gift awkwardly to us.

Yup, we pay based on ASUS Malaysia price, which in the catalog.

My hands itch for G56JR.... Hnnnnggghhh.
PS: The 4GB version if it can be bought for RM3k.

Too bad its using GTX 760M instead of GTX 8xxM series...

yeah the ULV CPU... doesn't bring much battery saving... maybe its due to the GTX GPU taking much more power.

My Bad. G56JR runs on i5-4200H not i5-4200U. Darn Intel naming senses. It can get confusing.
They did single hatch maintenance in G550 which is good news. And there's G551(G550 refresh) which will feature GTX 860M.

Upcoming G-series lineup would be G551 and GX500.
