This might be another on-off issue (My laptop is 3 years anyways) and it is happening as I am typing this out.

Turned my laptop on then browse Fb/manga/etc for about 10 minutes and suddenly my fan started blowing rather strongly or should I say the fan speed suddenly increased like mad.

Laptop is not even hot or anything at all. Been gaming on D3 and MW3 heavily tho. But that was in air-conditioned room most of the time.

Weird. *will turn my laptop off in a while and we shall see*

*UPDATE*

After a 'reboot', the fan decided to be normal again. Another wild-and-weird electronic bug appeared! No performance drop/rise, temperature normal everything normal.

My G53 was acting like that. Thus i decided on dismantle and replace thermal paste and clean up the vents.

Guess I REALLY should be doing that now. Is there any shop that can help us to dismantle etc? I don't really have much experience in fully dismantling this laptop =/

that cv ram should work if you're doing full swap. (meaning take out stock ram and put in just the new pair) if you are doing 2x4gb stock + 2x8gb cv (mixed ram), there might be a problem. (either downclocking to lower clock or no POST at all. this observation was based on previous g55/g75. the max was 2x8gb for 1866) tbh, i suggest you stick to 1600 because higher clock ram doesn't really help boost the system significantly.

the only good upgrade is ssd. ideally you should put in enthusiast ssd's like sammy's 840pro/850pro instead of 840evo. i don't know but after working with my 2x evo 500gb for some times, i find them not really smooth. there some minor hiccups when accessing apps/files. (it's minor, but you don't feel that when performance drives are used)

if you can have more ram, setting up ramdisk and primocache help to provide much better responsiveness also.

in general any decent 2.5" sata ssd released since 1 year ago should work fine. i never used kingston drives before. my favorites are ssd's from samsung, plextor, crucial and intel.

the performance of ram at the same range is kind of the same in real world usage.

different apps show different outcomes. atto might be able to show you that it's 555MB/s.

well his question is quite vague.
And those higher end 1866 ram stick are recommend to be pair with those higher end processor like i7-4900. It will not impact much on i7-4700.
Benchmark will show different due to the operating system and its activity in the background as well and also the hardware.

the reason why i said the above is because my current desktop is using 4x8gb 2400 ram (4790k). my aurora has the same amount of 1600 ram (4820k). from my experience, i feel no significant difference (but most likely it could be due to my usage also lol!)

I usually charge RM30 for this. Good thermal paste are cooler master, clay form, for cpu and gpu. Never use RM3 thermal paste.. some people give me that and i throw it away. I've done this in my university. icon_rolleyes.gif but if you're far away from me, i cant do that. you have to learn and take risk.

Anyone know where can i get the screw for g750JH ? i guess all g750 are using the same screw size. I need it to help my customers to recover their lost screw.
I mean chassis screw. full set if possible for me is useful.

unfortunately, nobody sell the screw. Asus Factory don't practice that.
