Haha!
Now you know why i was pissed off asus used soldered cpu?
Yeah.. Thats the second turn-off.
No, youre in an asus thread. And this is a good discussion :/
To me, the trend is like: Everything they do leads to lower sales?
*
I'm pissed off that they have to make it so hard to disassemble the laptop. It's like a time bomb, either u succeed or u fail or there might be some minor damage done. annoying as hell. Well that is a total turn off for me towards asus laptops. Although i still don't really want to go MSI as of now. Just wondering tho for MSI laptop, does the laptop actually has very high temp itself? coz our g55 with 2 fans and i'm getting (before repaste) higher temp compared to lenovo y500. Our only advantage is that the body of g55 is thicker and more formidable in some way that it doesn't melt unlike the y500.

Yeap this is actually a good discussion. This thread will be dead if we keep on playing the hey asus has 2 fans, it's really good, it's the best compared to other laptop, we don't need to discuss about other laptop~. Everyone here is a grown up not some fanboy~

Lol so now it's asus trend huh~ I was wondering, don't they learn from their mistakes?

laugh.gif  chill bro, is open discussion.
You are correct, we dun jz discuss only asus but also other brand. Especially other brand is start to move ahead than asus. fanboy is buying the same brand without knowing the pro & cons.  laugh.gif

Until Asus got their butt hurt sales report baru they know lo doh.gif
*
smile.gif they have already moved ahead along time ago. Asus is new actually in the field of gaming laptops~. while others are new but they are willing to invest alot which they see is an opening~

QUOTE(b00ter @ Jul 24 2013, 10:27 AM)
for how well the msi laptops run, it's still better to ask the owners here. however i still don't like the idea of having a single fan (even though it's very efficient).

yeah.. we no fan boys smile.gif we happened to have the asus g-series and we find this thread is nice to hang around. i personally like g55 because it's cool and quiet even under loads. other than that, sad.gif
right, it's pointless worshiping brands. they are just laptops.

for asus, we just hope they realize one thing for their gaming laptops: if you wanna go cutting edge, think carefully first ('smart' inventions like m.2 ssd converter is something that really make people laugh :/). looking at things in every possible angles, not just based on sales stats (that's too lazy and lame, because there are always actual reasons behind what drove the sales).
uh? it runs like you have 1 ssd and runs everything on that ssd. 3 ssd's do not mean it will run faster smile.gif

besides, i use ram disk instead of ssd for my work. it's much snappier.
yeah asus is too conservative for their laptops; but they pretend to be very innovative and dare to go cutting edge (with all the wrong solutions).

it's a good case study on how reliable brands kill their own products smile.gif
*
Yeah, was hoping any MSI owners to come here and tell their experience smile.gif. At this point for me i don't really mind the single fan if it's efficient enough. As long as it can keep it's temperature i think it's a job well done.

this thread has good community smile.gif which is nice to hang around. Open discussions regarding other products with various brands is a good discussion, opens doors to more knowledge. Some inventions are meant to fail, but asus has too much especially on the g-series laptop which is sad actually. I was hoping the upcoming g-series was more customizeable and user friendly.

b00ter's replies were mine.
haha! it's better to ask them at msi thread smile.gif yeah i think it's fine if the temperature is under control; but i still think it's better to have 2 fans. no need to clean up and replace paste for cpu and gpu at the same time ma lol!

yeah. it's better that we don't limit the topics to asus gaming laptops (it has limited topics only). imo there are no 'the best' among the brands. each has pro's and con's. i really hope we all can get to know more about these gaming laptops, or other related things. that might be helpful for all of us to choose what we need from all those choices (and budgets).

the same as you, i used to have high hopes on asus gaming laptops. however, reality is reality :/
*
haha.. yeah =.=" but i'm no good in jumping in threads~ lol. same thing ~ if it's ur type even 3 fans once u repaste i'm damn sure 100% u will repaste all 3 fans haha..

Well some people aren't open minded enough, they only want asus thread to talk about asus~ lol well "some"

I'm still hoping in near future asus will reflect on their "smart" innovation. As of now, like what u say reality is reality. Someone needs to smack them on their head to make them wake up

Edit: and Asus N45SF Asus G75vx is  very good product in my exp... and satisfy with their product.. with the time of price and affordability of purchase for me..smile.gif
*
the world is not about u only mate smile.gif even if u get good service from them, others didn't. 10 people getting good service and the other 90 didnt, doesn't make a good review or a good statistic either.

QUOTE(horns @ Jul 29 2013, 10:57 AM)
come on.. people in retail market also need to eat la :/ the margin must be good so that they have motivations to sell. these are higher-end laptops that only serve very limited niche market; it's not like those for common consumer market. they have rents to pay; salary and commissions to pay; and all sorts of things to take care of.

however, the retailers do understand the behaviors of consumers (all want premium stuff with low-baller price; well, who don't want that? right?). so they make adjustments to accommodate the market.

retail selling pricing is the dream that manufacturers hope to sell; however, usually dream and reality are just totally different.

so if you still think it's a rip-off, you can always choose other routes to get the stuff. we are all aware of places that can get things cheaper, very much cheaper. it's your call to continue support the local retailers, i.e. pay a bit higher price for local warranty support especially; so as to help them to sustain (you are still allowed to negotiate with them and most of the times you can get good discounts; if not you can still go for other shops), or go for cheaper ones from elsewhere (just note that there are risks in this one; so it's all up to you).
*
yeah true. It's actually really tiresome work also, explaining the same thing over and over again, while out of 20 maybe only 1 would buy their product. It's a test to their patience. So consider it a give and take. But not all reseller are honest, that's a given actually. ah well that's life smile.gif

uh? oh ok.

actually, there is no need to guide :/ it IS simple (but tedious due to the screws). you just need to be careful and patient. that's all. a better way is to take a lot of pictures along the way.
*
haha.. the best part is i forgot to take pics~ lol
