 How to OC 2.4Ghz to high performance

i tried to oc my cpu which is oso 2.4ghz...i oni managed to get to 2.6ghz..more than that my pc will not detect my audio driver n that become lagging n after hang...how do i change the fsb:dram ratio bcoz there is no option to do that in the bios...i'm using msi 845 pe-max, geforce 4 mx, n ddr266 384mb ram wif stock cooling...what cause my problem..how to overcome this...can i go over than 2.6 with stock parts

no audio? thats a problem with your agp/pci lock

How to?

Easy...raise the FSB speed and your clock speed will rise. Need an overclocking programs...check out main page bruddar under Overclock for noobies....

Should it? Maybe yes maybe No!...It depends on what depth of overclocking your are doing. Are you stressing out full max or just the CPU...?

actually when shit happens, u back down 5-6 mhz and see if things are stable

and for you i suggest just stick there and dont go anymore.


if your audio card has gone missing from the list of hardware u have, i suspect your board sucks and it does not have agp/pci lock

you see, these locks set your agp and pci to 66/33mhz. if thse locks are not there, your agp and pci speed would increase and thus causing instability.


once these has gone to a point of no return, your windows start getting corrupted and u spend all night reformating and reinstalling everything

so i suggest stop being greedy and back down about 5mhz

my p4 3.0 E0 reach 3.96 with 1.6 vcore n 2.75 vdimm . cant reach 4.0...haiya...already use watercool cap ayam..hehehe
