Hey dudes, Wanna ask about resolution DPI in Photoshop. Earlier I open some images files, then I create a new file but with only 72 Resolution. I copy and paste the image to this new file. And then saved it as .PNG, then open in Illustrator. In Illustrator it look clear and fine to me, but I'm wondering, the output result, will the images become blur? Let me know, or else I'll have to redo again with 300 DPI this time. Another question is, what is the common resolution DPI you guys set, usually at? Thanks.

for print, at A3 around 150dpi or less is enough already, maybe 150-120dpi
300dpi is overkill for A3 normally. Output blur? hmm..besides from strecthing the picture, i'm not sure what other problem would cause that

Siaukia: What about Digital painting? A4 size, 200DPI at least? If I use 300DPI, my PC will be laggy.

yeah, but when you go to printgate (those printing shop), they'll still reduce it down to 150, buit of course, the higher the better, no wrong in that, but normally 150 is alright

QUOTE(albirri @ May 5 2006, 03:25 PM) what is the difference between pixel/inch and pixel/cm? is there any? u got to know that pixel/inch = numbers of pixels in an inch, while pixel/cm = numbers of pixels in one cm and then 1 inch = 2.54 cm, so... 72dpi < 72dpcm err, am i right?

yes, so before opening a new file, make sure its set to ppc or ppi, you don't want to end up opening a new ppc file and curse why its so lag end up found out its ppc (pixel per cm)...means 1 pixel per 1 cm...if you have 10cm..10px already....1m...100px...imagine...
so on screen's work, usually we work on ppi
