As Stated on E3, May i know is the free games includes Xbox One games as well?
Does the free 360 games works on Xbone?
Is the game download have IP region lock? If yes, us with Malaysian IP is missing out alot.

Hey peeps, I managed to get Fable3 from my US Gold via US VPN

but recently I saw there's offer for 2 GoD that I wanted, Catherine & Game of Thrones, which both are on sales now, Catherine @ USD14.99 (1200msp), Game of Thrones @ USD9.90

but the VPN method doens't work, telling me "This content is not available for consoles in your region."

is the GoD games region locked too? as I know their disk based version are locked to NTSC/US only, but the digital content locked as well?

the answer is yes, GoD are region locked as well
the region lock follows the same locking on their disc based version

damn you MS! wanna give you money also dun want

lets hope the next few free GoD aren't region locked to our asian consoles

a reputable VPN service usually will able to access those GOD.

PSA: Fable 3 is available for all GT as long as you are using the right VPN for the registered GT.

in my case here the GoD I wanted are region locked, no matter what type of VPN you're using

already confirmed that if the Disc game are region locked to specific region, their digital GoD version also the same

Fable3 aren't region locked, so no problem getting it, just Catherine & Game of Thrones are locked out from NTSC/J consoles

Ok apparently they are games that are "region locked" and "IP locked". And from what i gathered, not all the games have IP restriction. And even few games with "region locked"

so it means must download normal until 99% then the last 1% download using US VPN issit?

It depends on the game, the last few GODs i bought (Sleeping dogs, Far cry 3, epic mickey 2, kung-fu high impact) i managed to get without VPN.

edit: just download via the dashboard. If it won't let you dl then you need to go via vpn. Also - really annoyed that they keep giving away games that I already own.

Unlike defence grid(which was already digital), I suppose there's the benefit of owning a digital copy. My last few achievements for AC2 involve hunting for collectibles.. ugh. Anyhoo - free games! YAY!

in my Fable3 case, i can initiate the download from the dashboard without using VPN, just near the end it failed to complete download, say it's corrupted or something

so need VPN near the end, right?

AC2 i almost completed the chevos, just the remaining feather hunting is making me crazy!

seems like MS is removing the region restriction for their GoD

now my Fable3 and AC2 downloaded without any issue without using VPN

bought another GoD game last night as well, also downloaded without issue, without VPN also
bought UMVC2, it's on sales now, USD14.99 or MSP1200, clearing my MSP before they change to real currency

but the bloody region lock restriction for GoD still applies

Wanted to pick up dishonoured last week for about - US20 but i got the "cannot be played on your console" message.

They already changed mine to real currency, unfortunately i only had 10MSP at that time because it converted to 0.34pounds which was quite profitable then.

region locked GoD won't let you purchase at all, they'll be able to detect that your console is a NTSC/J, then tell you your console is from diff region
some tried to play region locked GoD game via some hacking method, also won't play on the console too
