I got this quote from ING for my mom who doesn't have any insurance at all. This is a traditional standalone plan with no saving elements.
Age: 56
Annual premium : 2342
room & board: 180
Term: till age 85
icu: 300
Surgical expenses, hospital expenses, pre surgical/medical specialist consultation & pre surgical/medical diagnostic tests: as charged, subject to self insured deductible rm50
daily cash allowance at govt hospital: rm50
day surgery: as charged, subject to self insured deductible rm50
emergency accidental Outpatient treatment up to 31 days from accident date: as charged
post hospitalisation or day surgery follow up up to 60 days: as charged
out patient cancer & kidney: as charged
home nursing care: rm1000
overall annual limit: 110k
lifetime limit: 330k

The agent say ing card is good. After this Friday, no more ing products & she read aia's product not very good especially cancer treatment which got limit & Co insurance, not as charged.

Actually i asked her to prepare a comprehensive plan that has life, critical illness & medical card. But she said if combine all in 1 policy, premium will be high.
So she prepared another investment link policy for rm50k life & rm50k CI with annual premium 2200 for term 44 years.
If add 2 policies, the total annual premium is 4542 or 378.5 monthly.
Should I buy both or just medical card first?

at a glance, it looks fine. i had a chance to check such plans for a relative 3 yrs back.

talk to agent, ask for comments on prudential's senior citizen plan. i remember it was good, quite similar to the one above if not better. compare and contrast, then decide.

Still got ING?

AIA had taken over ING.

So now should be AIA.

for your mum i tried quot, a basic plan with life & CI 50K
+ a medical card 75K (annual limit) is already RM400/monthly

Please take note if the medical card is stand alone & will the premium increase over time?

Yes premium for year 1 to 4 is 2324, year 5 to 9 is 2613. Year10 to 14 is 3419. Yr 15 to 19 is 4958. Year 25 to 29 is 10424. It's expensive & no saving element too.

It's there a level premium policy that incorporates life, ci, payor, medical? I have a member here quotes me policy from GE at 4800 annually. I try to limit my budget 300-400 a month. Sharing cost with my Bro.

Actually my mom doesn't believe in insurance. She keep saying insurance cheating people. I tried to ask her buy insurance few years ago but she refused. Lately I encountered many cases of friends's mother & colleagues got breast cancer, leukemia, cervical cancer. And their medical bills very high too. So I thought is time to buy one for my mother before too late.

It doesn't really matter she believe insurance or not, what matter most is, if any unfortunate happens, who and how going to overcome it.

You are very smart and responsible to get your mom covered.

If you are fine the budget for both is actually recommended. If budget not enough then take medical card first, Medical card is the MUST.
But according to your investment link seen like no include Personal accident for it.
