Yeah recently i was gonna buy a PS3 for myself but with all the hype on the release of the PS4 it got me thinking should i wait for the release or just get a PS3?

PS4 release date maybe end of this year or early next year. If you can wait, of course ps4, why not?

But PS3 got awesome games like uncharted series, infamous, God of war, killzone, and much more, not sure ps4 got backwards compatibility, but i suggest you to wait PS4, at least youre getting something new, But please prepare to pay around RM1.2k - RM1.5k. Imported units are priced higher of course.

PS3 je la. All the games for PS3 are out so you have a library of games to play with and a lot of people are going to let go of their PS3 and games so you get to buy 2nd hand games at cheap price.

It's not like PS4 will be able to play PS3 games, right? RIGHT?

I would wait if it was me, the new Playstation comes out at the end of the year and the price has already been stated now at £350, which is pretty good for a launch console.

I would wait. But pretty much because... my Wii has been waiting for me to touch it for 6yrs already?

I still very much prefer the next company that fully adopts and support Oculus Rift+real life overlay hud display <either with console style controller or keyboard or both> not too fond of motion control though, it sounds good but ... best would be true SAO... direct nerve connection.

Go for PS3 now. The system is already stable, affordable price, good games and supported till 2016 at least, I think

While for PS4, we dunno how long it will take to reach Malaysia. And remember, first adopters sure got problem. See if you wan wait or not la, depend on you, unless u got game u wan on ps4 and not available for ps3, den just wait for ps4

I was actually thinking about this as well... However I'm leaning more to buying ps3 first, cause there is quite a few ps3 games I'd like to play... Ps4 is not really backward compatible, only can streaming... Going to survey price first...

Sorry, I should have put that clearer haha... It is backward compatible, but only through the streaming service called Gaikai I think... I'm not really sure how that works, but if I'm to take a wild stab in the dark, I will say that it might be something like those online games where you have to be always connected to play. Also not sure which games will be available through Gaikai... Surely can't be all, that will be a lot of games haha... I believe we won't be able to play using those PS3 discs, which is what I really prefer since I have no unifi That is why I said it is not "really" backward compatible, I meant in the sense that it can't use the PS3 discs.

Yea I'm guessing they will cease production of ps3 game sooner rather than later... But there are many PS3 games from the past few years that I would like to play first... so it is probably worth it for me... Another thing is I very kedekut one, so even if I get the PS4 as soon as it gets out, I'm unlikely to buy new games for RM150-RM200. I prefer second hand games, cheaper. Economically, for stingy people like me, now just seem like a good time to get PS3 and plenty of used games lol. So yea, I'm definitely leaning more towards buying a PS3 haha... Maybe a year or more later then only buy PS4, by then PS4 should be cheaper and more used games in the market lol.
