Nah sonus faber not my thing. Don't like the sound signature. Now HiVi/Swan is wrecking havoc....ridiculous quality. ..ridiculous pricing. For passive speaker I like harbeth, and opera. OT liao

EDIT: Does anybody know how bright of a led is required for diy boards? (Mcd)
*
I think the Voltage is a more valid concern instead of brightness?

If the designed voltage for board is around 2v, you ended up using red or yellow led on it.

If it is 3v, you are using blue, green or white led.

At the designed voltage, the led should be bright enough do do the backlit job.

Hi all Sifu,

I thinking of to replace my SS6GV2 Red cherry keys, which should i go for? Please advice!!
*
Taobao

But since the layout of ss6gv2 is not the most standard one, you should end up having a hard time finding replacement for the enter, right shift and backspace key. Also it should be tricky to find replacement for the spacebar.

Apart from that, other keys are pretty much easy to find replacement.

Is this normal ?
You see the beside the switches, there's a "dot" like thing.
» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «

*
The dot on cherry switch indicate whether it is a colicky switch or not.

As you can see, blue, green and milk white switches are clicky, thus having a dot on the switches.

how much this thing cost?

for full set keyboard in RM biggrin.gif

Go and find Taobao agents to order and ship to you.

Their normally charge around 10% of the order price as commission for ordering for you. Shipping wise it range from +/- RM10 per kg to 20++ for sensitive goods.

If you looking for agents, there are lots in service and notice board subforum there.

The very 1st China board that give the impression of classy and professional.
http://www.waishehome.cn/thread-73836-1-1.html
Metal case (for once it is a mass market board with metal top and bottom case, though it doesn't look thick) and ingenius magnetic palm rest (need not worry bout sliding palm rest) are a serious plus.

Though, the price is on the high side, around 700RMB.

Actually is spoilt led or pcb?

If led small case, just buy from Taobao.

If pcb then you might want to train your jump wiring skill for it.

shine 3 and yots led mode same ?
*
Shine3 can control the diminishing timing, so that it can be more useful or beautiful than what Shine2 can do?

EDIT: Oh, misunderstood what you ask just now, for your question, YOTS is actually a variant of Shine3, so both should be same.

Jaki is an ancient player in mech kb market back in the day mech kb isn't mainstream.

Their current board is oem by same oem as ss7g, or in other word is simply a clone of it (even the giant wrist rest also there) but a backlit version and come together with a BADASS briefcase.

hahaha

Long warranty will make you feel guilty mod or void a good and new keyboard.

For China boards suggestion, lots fit in tour budget. You can just search for those boards that cost sub 400rmb, it should fall within your budget.

Apart from keycool, you can try HPE, Noppoo or Plum Morphing too.

If you want wireless mech keyboard, you can get plum96, plum87, Noppoo mini 84 wireless version and neo zelia87.

If you solely want to train your soldering skill without plan to use the board in future, you can simply buy those 2nd hand ylj (literally translate into western junk trash) or genius m1, both should cost less than rm150 shipped.

How is the quality for the wireless model? How is the failure rate?

Mine simply works almost flawlessly, even it is the 1st gen of it.

But some users complain that theirs sucks, not sure why.

For wireless model, I am still waiting for Noppoo Nano 75 rclxms.gif

Poker II / KMAC 2 / Nano 75 = my current choice
*
+1

Noppoo nano is a thing die die must wait.

The only downside for me is they go for Bluetooth and chargeable battery instead of normal 2.4ghz wireless and AAA battery they being using all this while... Will be problematic if anything goes wrong..
