4 Jun - Malaysian singer Soo Wincci said that she had rejected several suitors in order to focus on her singing career in Taiwan.
In a televised interview with Taiwanese host Chang Hsiao-yen, the 28-year-old revealed that she had taken up a loan worth RM 1 million (SGD 420,000) to boost her singing career. She also said that her decision led to strong objections from her family but she has no regrets about her actions.
Soo added that the news had shocked her friends and even her ex-boyfriend. When she was asked to comment on her debt, she said it will take about 25 years to clear her debt completely.
"All of my friends are shocked by my decision to get a loan. I even get a text message from my ex-boyfriend asking me about this. This news even scared some of my suitors off!"
Soo is now currently preparing for her second Chinese-language album, which is slated to be released at the end of this year.
As for her appearance in films, the 2008 Miss Malaysia said that she has agreed to star in a Malay-language film, playing a pimp.

If her singing is really that good, talent companies will hunt her down free of charge, no need to borrow that much money to boost her singing career.
She got a nice face, no doubt it. Just moments ago I was reading an article about how she turned down offers up to 1mil to sleep with Datuks.
The money could have come in handy now I guess. I'm sure she is worth every penny. Hmm.
