Two ways to look at it: Either increase your Strength or improve your Vitality.

Increasing Strength allows you to chip away at your enemies faster, but your attacks needs priority first: attack with daggers or swords, and not greatswords, great axes and lances or polearms. Your enemies must be damage-able by physical attacks: some enemies are only prone to damage from magic, or certain type of elemental-equipped weapons.

Improving Vitality means your party members takes less damage per hit when attack. This ties in with the Defence numbers as well.

Unfortunately, at Chapter 2, unless you're already finding good weapons from your explorations, this wouldn't work. You could try upgrading your weapons but some of those upgrades means moving to later chapters as well.

Vitality numbers are increased either in level up or using accessories. At Chapter 2, there aren't many accessories made available to you to do so, you need to explore more locations to meet more weapon vendors that offer these accessories.

At your level and stage, the best weapons are in the dungeons where you find your Royal Arms. Explore them.

Unfortunately, the reality is, Noctis's level will always be higher than the rest, I hit Level 99 on him first before the rest because I use him the most. It's unavoidable. The best you can do with regards to Ascension nexuses is to unlock Teamwork nexuses if you want them to be balanced.

Hihi. Other forumers have already said what you need to knkw. But I personally think you should proceed to chapter 3 to unlock Duscae. There's a lot more content and explorable area there.

Ultima blade is the best at that point. The only one that's able to beat that is balmung which is more of a post game content in order to get that weapon.

One question though, is the Luna edition being sold for a limited time only?

The Black Hood (reward for finishing it) isn't particularly useful if you're the run-and-gun aggresive type of player, coz it auto-evade for you when worn, but consume MP like a bitch. You will soon find out that in fights with enemies like Magitek Assassins where their spinning daggers takes priority over any weapons you use, the Hood will auto-evade for you and eat rapidly into your MP meter, and leave you stuck in Stasis mode because your MP is drained.
No need to open all doors, if the game indicated that you've completed the quest, just skip to the entrance. Make sure the game does tell you that you've completed it. The end dungeon monster is Bilrost.
The reason why you cant beat the Red Giant is because they're weak against daggers, not swords. Swords take little damage, and at the strength level of 34 (with no strength boosting accesorries), you'll take a long time to whittle at their life bar. The other "ultimate" weapons are only accessible in Chapter 15.
