Went to the midnight launch event , oh god there was no air-con and the whole room smells like sweats basically.
But it was pretty cool to know there were so many Malaysian involved in making FFXV .

I got the standard edition, which is pretty neat and they also give me a pouch , a poster and some trivial things .
Beside the 1st day dlc item , they have a lucky draw DLC card where you can get one of the following

As for the game , I would urge everyone to support by buying the game , because Malaysian are starting to make waves in the game industry.
They are making us proud. Especially I can probably imagine all the years and effort they have put into making this a reality.

Too bad I can't really say the same for the gameplay. As an avid open-world RPG fan , especially if you have been playing AAA RPG for the past few years , the game is just Probably also the reason why they were giving out 5 hours worth of the gameplay for free to the Japanese



The size of the patch is 9.2gb . Still relatively huge for day one patch , hopefully they had fixed some of those severe bugs from the judgement disk demo.

It comes with the R3 ver , I can't say for the other region but likely not as they are tied with amazon preorders.

I agreed with what SSJBEN said , wholeheartedly.

The whole open-world thing is a new take for Square Enix. We know Japanese aren't exactly known for their flexibility in the industry .
As a first timer I would say they passed , but not with flying colours . It is a 6/10 , slightly above mediocre . But for a game with a budget like this , that is just not good enough.


If you are a first timer , forget this . But if you were fans from the past FF , there are a lot of powerful nostalgia factors in the game , including BGM from the past games , mascots from older ff series which makes a cameo here.


The truth is the world is kind of bland and boring, the combat is very repetitive after awhile . The "talent" tree is incredibly shallow and you won't have access to most of them until late game. And the story ? I wanted to say it is a trainwreck , it does has its moment but overall it did not impress me , at all .


I was expecting a dark fantasy and I was expecting a refreshing take from Stellar vs Noctis , a Rivalry between the future leader from 2 empires , that would be much more interesting. Unfortunately no they had to scrap it and I don't even remember which one was Luna after watching the whole movie.


I have no idea how the game designer is actually very proud of this game especially he said he had played Witcher 3 and Fallout 4 before. But he clearly had a lot of chances to improve on multiple area with the reference . So imho , if witcher 3 got a 9/10 , fallout 4 got a 8/10 , this game is a solid 6/10.

Because the game wasn't exactly new , it has been in the making for 10 years . The Luminous engine was upgraded several times in the past but it is still a PS4 game .
The GPU today have been advancing in light years , just look at how much stronger the PASCAL GPUs are compare to PS4 now.




The aesthetics of the games are impressive, especially the city of Altissha , you can tell they put a lot of effort in that .

I just find it very very repetitive after awhile and because of that I was deliberately trying to avoid most of the random mobs encounter now.

And the high end talent does sounds game changing but it won't be unlocking anytime soon so I am basically stuck with the few things I have until ...later ?

I strongly disagree with you . You have to be professional game reviewers to criticize a game ?
Why is there the existence of sites like Metacritics ?

Gamers are hard to please , but which industry you have alll the customers that are easy to please ? Let me know because I am going to change my job


I get it some of you are MAJOR FF fans (so am I ) and will do everything you could to defend it .
Just like how some of the of the reviewers from FF13 were getting death threats for giving it a negative .
I did not criticize the game out of no where. If you did not find what I typed useful , don't read it.


I ENJOYED the game , but I did not like it much so far . Is that good enough for you Mr Politically Correct ?

P/S : I apologize for the derail off the FFXV discussion , but as a gamer I have to defend myself against such accusation . Blindly defending a game is something which contribute to many of failures we seen on the game market today , without criticism there will be no improvement .
