The points can be used like cash at nearly all the 1Utama stores. This is even better if you purchase the gift card using a cashback card like CIMB CR (5%) or PBB VS (6%) etc.

Yes, but the PBB VS promo cashback, you have to spend RM200 to get RM10 (so have to buy 2 giftcards) and subject to first come first served. So I always buy the giftcards on MONDAY to ensure I get it.

I use it at all those shops which don't accept CC, or only accept CC above RM50 etc (typically those eateries and coffee shops). Also used it at places like Nike to buy sports shoes (RM500+) and Kiehls skincare.

During previous promos, if I am making a large purchase, I will go to the shop, ask them if they accept payment by OneCard, and I will buy the credit on my mobile phone (while I'm in the shop) and pay using the OneCard.
