For OneCard users (i.e. the loyalty card for 1Utama mall), check out the CNY OneCard promo where you can get RM5 credit for reloading RM100 gift card. The points can be used like cash at nearly all the 1Utama stores. This is even better if you purchase the gift card using a cashback card like CIMB CR (5%) or PBB VS (6%) etc.

I've reloaded RM500 on my OneCard so far and used it for my CNY shopping.

This is considered as online purchase? RM5 promo + RM5 cash back for RM100 gift card?

I bought my giftcards online through https://www.oneshop.com.my/ and received 5% cashback from CIMB CR.

I also used my PBB VS and got 6%, plus qualified for the 5% promotional cashback. So using PBB VS, for each RM100 gift card, I received RM6 standard cashback, RM5 promotional cashback and RM5 OneCard promotional credit.

PBB VS - 6+5+5
CIMB - 5+5

Correct? Awesome!

Btw, i remember most departmental store e.g jusco isetan parkson can't use one card right?

Yes, but the PBB VS promo cashback, you have to spend RM200 to get RM10 (so have to buy 2 giftcards) and subject to first come first served. So I always buy the giftcards on MONDAY to ensure I get it.

Department store cannot use.

I use it at all those shops which don't accept CC, or only accept CC above RM50 etc (typically those eateries and coffee shops). Also used it at places like Nike to buy sports shoes (RM500+) and Kiehls skincare.

During previous promos, if I am making a large purchase, I will go to the shop, ask them if they accept payment by OneCard, and I will buy the credit on my mobile phone (while I'm in the shop) and pay using the OneCard.

Thanks for the tip smile.gif This may change how I shop in One U in the future - at least to get the online cash back.
