asking to choose between 2 AV
u'll end up with several AV suggestion so forth

some may suggest you their-top-AV based on these two site; therefore, learnt to differentiate between these
paid-reviewer
normal AV test lab

Should hv tell you this

-willingness to pay up*not in ur case
-frequent usage on removable device
-p2p,internet surfing, media share habit
-willingness on learning how to setup, be familiar with those AV setting nod.gif

my advice,
casual use + suffice awareness on risky activities = AVAST
top securities + ready to learnt all those feature/setting = Kapersky

as for me, avast is enough plus their additional feature on remote help

From my experience,
KIS is really heavy on pc and not recommended for a low end one, but provides more function than Avast!
Unless you compare it with Avast! Internet Security, then I'd say go for which you can afford

I personally recommend Bitdefender. It's very good, very light and unobtrusive. You can limit how much of your CPU it uses for scanning so on any computer with moderate specs, it'll run smoothly in the background while you do whatever the heck you want while it scans.

i'd say kis is better than avast, costlier on money and heavier on system resource.

I would recommend avast due to several factors such as :-
- value for money (got free version!)
- uses less system resources thus your computer won't slow down as much as KIS

KIS does have better detection rates but avast will catch most viruses as well. I've been using avast for the past few years and never had a problem with viruses. Why pay for something when the free option does a very good job as well. So based on my personal experience, i would recommend avast.

I personally wouldn't recommend using KIS because it slows down your system noticeably, the newest version is even worse, but if you have a powerful rig (with SSD) then by all means KIS.

Avast is good, has good detection rate and most importantly it's very lightweight. It's a better bet if you want a responsive system.

My 2 cents.

sigh, thought this thread was posted years ago..just my feeling
several plus featured on avast eversince years ago is what make me place this AV at the top; still based on the user's habit

-built in remote control, alternative for teamviewer
-built in software updater
-real-time streaming of cloud-based virus definition; OFC, it has been used on the other, but it wasnt free aight?
-basic net protection, for free;not just a TOTAL RIPOFF

and lastly, YARRRR...custom language pack and audio part
which Im going to made a new thread on those thing:hehe:
