It's called Hardcore mode.. You can enable it during character creation... You only get 1 life and whatever your char is wearing and all items in that char's inventory will be gone when you are dead... Great item sink.. I almost quit playing D3 but thanks to hardcore mode.. I'm stucked to D3 again... Try it

It always happen in hc public, never ever ever teleport or accept invitation from unknown. especially in MP 10. and guess what? blizz dont bother.. sad story..
