I had Pak Arif as well as my driver / tour guide for my family trip last May. It was easy to deal with him,just book via whatsapp and he brought us around for 5 days. The trip was easy and no rush, as he estimated the time from one place to another pretty well. 12 hours a day. One of the best part was when he recommended us to eat the infamous fish soup Warong Mak Ben in Sanur Beach. It was good!

It has been years since I saw below 300k. Therefore stimix should consider changing the first page as well.

For now, the standard ones should be around 450 - 550. 450 will depend on who you get. I have seen 600k as well.

Anyways, different drivers different prices. I always get a good rate from mine but normally I'd engage him 3 days or more. Didn't really try one day rate before. But then my rates are lower than what you were quoted.

Just got back from my 4D3N trip from Bali and decided to use Mr. Arief (+62817537826) as suggested by many LYN members. Whatsapp'ed him before my trip. Basically I find that 4D3N is too short for Bali didn't really covered Ubud but did had fair share of fun at Seminyak/Kuta area as well as Mt. Batur and Bedugul.

Do I need to change some USD for some reason? Or I can use Rupiahs throughout my trip in Bali?

my local car service provider, En Arief and En Okta.
Very great experience with them. They would not waste time jamming in traffic but they will find the best ways and shortcuts to bring you to destinations safely.
Clean car and good driving skill.
But of course, you must give them full corporation to adhere the time allocated for each destinations. Don't overrun.

My hotel stay in 101 Legian, Kuta. The best and most worth 4 to 5 stars hotel in city. Rm 80 per night and breakfast included for 2. I missed the chance to enjoy their nite BBQ buffet and Alcoholic pool party for RP 150k per pax from 3pm until 10pm. Will try this on next trip.

Kuta is great hangout city. Most of the restaurants are charging extra 15% to 16% service and tax charges. Only managed to find one Australian Restaurant just few stone away from my hotel which is tax free and foods are superb. Maybe they absorb those free.

My opinion on Bali, is a very big island. i still prefer appoint local car service for next trip again rather than using rental car or bike. The cigarettes are damn cheap over there. RP 19k to 20k for a pack. I tried it on Marlboro light, not bad the taste. Unlike those in Beijing on Shanghai, Rm 5 per pack but taste like paper. Money changers is everywhere. Ranging from Rm 1 for 3200 Rp until 3900Rp, but must becareful. Wifi is virtually available everywhere. but if you insists on 3g 24/7, Simpati is your best choice. The cheapest i found is Rp 110k. Uber service is available in Bali. There are plenty there. They count by mileage + basic fee. Food is quite cheap in Bali but drinks are slightly expensive. Beer like Bintang also quite expensive. Even mineral water also expensive there. You have to survey few convenient store to look for cheapest mineral water. Bali is like singapore, water is expensive.

Well, short trip but it is an eye opener for me. Will definitely revisit again.

Do you need a car to go around Bali? If yes then just hire a car... 1 day with driver @ 500k (inclusive petrol etc). They can go pick u up from the aiport, save yourself some $

Bali airport have been redone, its very nice now, u can grab a blue bird easily.

it's different when u stay at ubud and then make a tour to ubud.. usually the drivers only bring u to tourist spots.. u won't be able to stroll around the ubud streets

Yeap half a day is enough.. Can slowly stroll and chill.. The atmosphere at night more romantic though..Can go during night and day for different feel and try different restaurants if u have the time if u r staying there..
