So they have not yet kicked up the prices because of the petrol tax 40% increase!

Just to see, I asked hotel -- they are quoting 700k, and also hedging, saying 1/2 day needed for each destination. Many tour agencies also about 700k.
*
i am sure the price will shoot up pretty soon. the last time i was there also it was hard to get 350k ..most average rm400k

I had Pak Arif as well as my driver / tour guide for my family trip last May. It was easy to deal with him, just book via whatsapp and he brought us around for 5 days. The trip was easy and no rush, as he estimated the time from one place to another pretty well. 12 hours a day. One of the best part was when he recommended us to eat the infamous fish soup Warong Mak Ben in Sanur Beach. It was good!

You can also find him in facebook, as we were connected after the trip. Looking forward to use his service next time. https://www.facebook.com/arief.trips

It has been years since I saw below 300k. Therefore stimix should consider changing the first page as well.

For now, the standard ones should be around 450 - 550. 450 will depend on who you get. I have seen 600k as well.

Anyways, different drivers different prices. I always get a good rate from mine but normally I'd engage him 3 days or more. Didn't really try one day rate before. But then my rates are lower than what you were quoted.

will be going for my second bali trip in nov. will be there 6 nites. will have full 5 days to spend.

wonder should i get/hire a driver for the 5 day period?

the last time stayed in kuta. Made a wrong choice as i booked pop hotel kuta which was a let down with lousy breakfast.

This time i am undecided... where to stay?

Just got back from my 4D3N trip from Bali and decided to use Mr. Arief (+62817537826) as suggested by many LYN members. Whatsapp'ed him before my trip. I was clear with what I wanted to do in Bali so I gave him a list of where I should go and he advised and fine tuned my itinerary so that everything can be smoother and it did!

Very friendly and helpful driver, and will always suggest you what to do and where to go so if you are not sure don't be afraid or hesitate to ask. His 7-seater MPV is very clean and has a very good sound system as well.

Basically I find that 4D3N is too short for Bali sad.gif didn't really covered Ubud but did had fair share of fun at Seminyak/Kuta area as well as Mt. Batur and Bedugul.

does he have an email?
how was his charges? will be there for 6 days (5 full days), maybe will get him

can share your itinerary? where did u stay?

Just came back from Bali, 4days 3nights. I strongly recommend this driver : https://www.facebook.com/sukrayasa?fref=ts

He speaks good English, very friendly and helpful too. His rates around RM150-RM200 per day depending on what type of car and number of passengers.

Stay at Ubud before, nice place to stay at ubud.

Accommodation side, you could try at tegal sari (ubud).

Last time stayed in kuta area for 6 days. Got bored as every night walk around the same area again n again. This time need to really plan staying at diff areas.

U goign END of nov or early?

Cause its gonna be hot there... their weather kinda follows the aussie season...

I have been going to Bali nearly every year for the last 10 years due to work.. and every late nov/early dec trip.. its ridiculously hot
*
btw where is the bluebird taxis located near the airport terminal?

last time i went there could not find the bluebird taxis and had to pay higher price for other taxis.

my recent trips in Bali 3d2n

my local car service provider, En Arief and En Okta.
Very great experience with them. They would not waste time jamming in traffic but they will find the best ways and shortcuts to bring you to destinations safely.
Clean car and good driving skill.
But of course, you must give them full corporation to adhere the time allocated for each destinations. Don't overrun.

My hotel stay in 101 Legian, Kuta. The best and most worth 4 to 5 stars hotel in city. Rm 80 per night and breakfast included for 2. I missed the chance to enjoy their nite BBQ buffet and Alcoholic pool party for RP 150k per pax from 3pm until 10pm. Will try this on next trip.

Kuta is great hangout city. Most of the restaurants are charging extra 15% to 16% service and tax charges. Only managed to find one Australian Restaurant just few stone away from my hotel which is tax free and foods are superb. Maybe they absorb those free.

My opinion on Bali, is a very big island. i still prefer appoint local car service for next trip again rather than using rental car or bike. The cigarettes are damn cheap over there. RP 19k to 20k for a pack. I tried it on Marlboro light, not bad the taste. Unlike those in Beijing on Shanghai, Rm 5 per pack but taste like paper. Money changers is everywhere. Ranging from Rm 1 for 3200 Rp until 3900Rp, but must becareful. Wifi is virtually available everywhere. but if you insists on 3g 24/7, Simpati is your best choice. The cheapest i found is Rp 110k. Uber service is available in Bali. There are plenty there. They count by mileage + basic fee. Food is quite cheap in Bali but drinks are slightly expensive. Beer like Bintang also quite expensive. Even mineral water also expensive there. You have to survey few convenient store to look for cheapest mineral water. Bali is like singapore, water is expensive.

Well, short trip but it is an eye opener for me. Will definitely revisit again.

check agoda

its rm118 per nite for nov -101 legian hotel

worth paying this price? plan to stay 6 nites

Do you need a car to go around Bali? If yes then just hire a car... 1 day with driver @ 500k (inclusive petrol etc). They can go pick u up from the aiport, save yourself some $

Bali airport have been redone, its very nice now, u can grab a blue bird easily.
*
planning to get arief but he is booked but he can assign his fren. Yet to confirm since i am still deciding on where to stay. He suggested out of legian/kuta as will be too heavy traffic. But somehow i prefer close by legian/kuta as at night can walk around and look for food/ massage. It has been almost 3 year since going to bali... almost forgot the place ... maybe too much of travelling ....

it's different when u stay at ubud and then make a tour to ubud.. usually the drivers only bring u to tourist spots.. u won't be able to stroll around the ubud streets

if stay in ubud, half day enuff to walk around? so after an overnite, get the driver to come only after lunch on the next day?

i am planning 3 nites in ubud and then 3 nites near kuta

shall i have one full day in ubud itself and skip the driver for that day? maybe can cycle around those paddy fields.... just afraid cant spend the whole day
