Pak Bagus also recommended Ayam Betutu Khas Gilimanuk at Denpasar.

The ayam betutu above costs 48K Rp and the rice 6K Rp.

We insisted on visiting Naughty Nuri's for the pork ribs but Pak Bagus said it will be smoky there so he recommended Iiga Warung at Ubud.

Travelling back from Uluwatu sunset, we stopped by Jimbaran for a beach dinner at Dewata Cafe.

Decor was okay and we dined by the beach with recliner beds and a band playing to us.

user posted image

This 0.8kg king fish cost 176K Rp and iced lemon tea was 20K Rp. Not very costly for a beach dinner. rclxm9.gif

We walked around Kuta and located Made's Warung at Jalan Kuta Raya. The babi guling was nice and soft and the skin crunchy. Better than the ones we tried in Jakarta.

This awesome nasi campur babi guling cost 85K Rp. Pricey but worth the experience. rclxms.gif

Pak Bagus took us to a luwak coffee plantation:

We were shown round the plantation by a curvy and sexy girl who speaks good English. thumbup.gif

Free tasting of different types of coffee.

However for kopi luwak you need to pay. 50K Rp for a tiny cup. Personally, I think kopi luwak is nothing great so did not buy any back home.

Upon arrival at DPS airport, Pak Bagus picked us up and the first place we visited was Cening Bagus in Gianyar. I highly recommend this place for those who love paintings and handicrafts. Lots of oleh-olehs there as well. Saw many locals shopping there.

Good variety of paintings. And they are very cheap. The 1.3m x 1.1m Buddha painting went at 266K Rp. only.

Another location worth checking out is Krishna Oleh-Oleh at Denpasar. It has paintings as well but Cening Bagus has more variety. Price wise almost the same.

Pak Bagus recommended this shop for genuine layer cakes....Bali Cake at Denpasar.

Sukawati Art Market at Gianyar was a disappointment but it works if you like batik and tees. Very cheap.

There were no crowd there or maybe we were late.

Along the rods of Ubud, we saw many big statues:

Monkey Forest in Ubud is worth going. Many great views.

An hour to travel from Ubud to Kintamani for its views. We missed the sunrise and our trip to the top was spoilt by 2 women who insisted we buy their oleh-olehs. We ended up buying something from both of them and rushing into the car not even spared the decency to take some pics. The entrance was 30K Rp each.

Some views of Kintamani volcano.

Nothing great at the Kuta Art Market which was a stone's throw away from our hotel, the Ramayana Resorts.

At the end of the Kuta Art Market was Pantai Kuta.

The Balinese are pretty religious folks. Bali is actually called the Island of the Gods. Works alright for me. In our 4 days trip, we saw no crime, only one madman running along the main road in Kuta with cars following behind him. laugh.gif And 2 supirs I presume punching it out for business rivalry.

There are lots of puras in Bali, some even smack right in the middle of town.

Here are some pics on Pura Tirtha Empul at Tampaksiring. A must-see.

It was an hour's road trip from Kuta to Uluwatu. Need to leave early so as not to be caught in the jam. Recommended time would be 3.30-4.00pm so you can reach Uluwatu temple by 5.00pm to take some pics before the Kecak dance.

Entrance to the Uluwatu temple was 30K Rp. each and the Kecak Dance was 100K Rp.

Here are some pics.

So much about food and sights...now will post some pics on the hotels we stayed.

On arrival, we spent the first night at Tegal Sari in Ubud. This accommodation was smack in the middle of paddy fields and in a kampong setting. We love it very much. The staff were courteous and stay was very memorable.

Cost was 330K Rp. per night.

The second and third nights were spent at Ramayana Resorts at Jalan Bakung Sari, Kuta. Cost for two nights was 1.7M Rp.

We like the location. It was very central and close to the Kuta beach, Jalan Karthika, Kuta Square, Jalan Kuta Raya & Legian. Lots of shopping and foot and body massage centres around. Foot and body massage start at 50K Rp. Matahari Mall and Discovery Mall were also at walking distances.

Here are some pics of this hotel:

I've used this supir before few years back.
BUT don't remember his name. Somehow Bagus don't seem to ring a bell. He was sent to be our supir while my nego / agreement was with a Pak Gus Ade ( Bagus??) Yeah, he's a decent supir. Did he play his Balinese Hindu chants on the cd player during the long drives?

Thanks for your detailed sharing! Sure can use some of the info you provided smile.gif

He did not play any Hindu chants but I noticed on the way back from the kecak dance he did play the kecak song on his CD. tongue.gif

It seems your package kinda cover from north to south..but are you planning to spend some time walking around Seminyak? And also explore the nightlife in Kuta, Legian?

Where is your hotel on last day? I suggest you go Seminyak la instead of watersport..don think its a good idea for watersport on ur last day.

For the price..I wouldn't say its cheap but, reasonable la..since it covers your transport throughout the whole trip (if not u gotta hire driver, and its gonna cost at least few hundreds already)..
